When Was YouTube Released?

Before founding YouTube, Jawed Karim worked at PayPal as a software engineer. He was one of the company’s first employees. Chad Hurley
It has been more than a decade since Chad Hurley was the CEO of YouTube. This video-sharing website grew from a small beginning in February 2005 into a multibillion-dollar enterprise under the tutelage of Google. YouTube was released in February 2005, and Hurley played an integral role in its launch. After leaving YouTube, he founded MixBit with a former colleague, Steven Chen. Hurley tasked him with creating an interface that would allow users to share videos easily. During the startup phase, Hurley was also responsible for tagging uploaded content.
While attending high school, Hurley also became a standout runner in his high school’s cross-country program. In addition, he won two PIAA State titles in 1991 and 1994. Although his first passions were in art, he began to focus more on computers while in high school. His family even sponsored a sidewalk art sale outside the family’s home. Chad Hurley was also a sports fan, playing cross-country and track. He graduated from high school in 1995.
Steve Chen
In 2005, Chen founded YouTube with a $11.5 million seed investment from Sequoia Capital. He and his team released the beta test in May and officially launched it in November. YouTube was founded by three PayPal employees, including Chen. Chen, Hurley, and Karim were friends. In the early days, the YouTube co-founders relied on friends at PayPal to build the various components of the service. The company eventually incorporated and hired employees. In July 2005, Chen, Hurley, and Karim moved to a downtown Los Angeles office. YouTube employees were given access to computers and the company began making money.
