Click on this icon, and you’ll be taken to a confirmation page. This step is not as complicated as it may seem, and you’ll want to use it only if you know the person well.
Accepting a friend request
If you want to be more popular, accepting Friend Requests from other people is one of the easiest ways to boost your popularity. Turning off friend requests
If you want to limit the number of friend requests that come in through Facebook, there are several options you can use. First, you can make your account unfindable. This means that people cannot find your account unless you tell them by name. This is helpful for a variety of reasons. Secondly, turning off friend requests does not actually stop other people from requesting friendship with you. Declining a friend request will not send the person a message, and it will not prevent them from making future friend requests. Third, you can set your privacy level to reduce the number of friend requests that come in through Facebook.
Third, you can hide your friend request button. This is the easiest way to hide pending friend requests from your news feed. After you click the button that says “Add Friend,” the person who sent the request won’t know if you accepted or declined. You can also choose to block a certain group of people from sending you friend requests. This way, only people you know will be able to send you friend requests.
Rejecting a friend request
The process of rejecting a friend request on Facebook has changed a bit over the past year. You can no longer select Confirm or Ignore when receiving a friend request from someone. Instead, you can choose to “Confirm” or “Not Now” to turn down the friend request. Once accepted, the person’s public posts will be automatically subscribed to your account. This is similar to the follow feature on Twitter.
If you’ve received a friend request from someone and they refuse to accept it, you may want to poke them to alert them that you sent them a message. Facebook will send you an email with an invitation and post a notice on their profile. If you’re not sure if you’ve received a request, you can confirm or ignore the request in your email program. If the person doesn’t acknowledge the request, try poking them and seeing if it’s a mistake.
