How to Delete a Story on Instagram
In Instagram, there’s no “Draft” button, making it tricky to edit or delete stories. The good news is that the process is quite simple. Read on to learn how to delete a story. Alternatively, you can edit the highlights, change the length of your story, or archive it. Here’s a quick guide to deleting a story. Just make sure you have a copy of the story you’d like to delete.
Delete a story
If you want to delete a story on Instagram, you can easily do it by following these simple steps: First, open the app on your smartphone and tap on your profile picture in the upper-right corner. Change the length of a story

When you archive a story, the clips are saved in the same quality as when you originally posted them. Once you’ve archived your Story, you can view it on Instagram again. Zoom in

Mute a story
Using the mute feature on Instagram is a simple way to stop receiving posts from a certain user without unfollowing them. But you can still follow them, even if you don’t see their stories in your feed.
Fortunately, Instagram makes unmuting your account as easy as logging into the app and scrolling through your stories. Once you’ve finished scrolling through your stories, simply tap the profile picture to reveal the greyed-out icons. Alternatively, you can click the mute icon and then tap the story to see the original post. Then, you can unmute your story by following the same instructions as above.
