What Are the New Symbols on Twitter?
Emojis, the ‘Bell’ icon, and Messages are some of the new features in Twitter. What do they mean and why do we use them? Here’s a look. In addition to Emojis, Twitter has also added a bookmarks icon and a’message’ feature. If you’re looking for some ways to use Twitter, these new features may be worth a try.
Messages
The symbol that’s located under a tweet can mean several things. It can mean to reply to a tweet, copy the URL to your clipboard, or add a tweet to your bookmarks. Bell icon
If you’re wondering “What is the bell icon on Twitter?” you’re not alone. It’s an easy way to subscribe to replies from people you follow. The bell icon is displayed in the top-right corner of your screen when you’re viewing a tweet. If you want to subscribe to replies from specific people, simply tap on the bell icon while viewing a tweet. Then, you’ll see three options: Subscribe to the top replies, subscribe to new tweets, and disable reply notifications.
Upvote
While Facebook is the fastest-growing social network, Twitter is still a bit slow. Twitter recently announced radical changes to how you can reply to tweets. New signals highlight replies from the original tweeter and others connected to them. Color-coding is gone, and Twitter uses new symbols. While these are less intrusive, they still provide the same context. For example, the new symbol for “follow” highlights your follower’s comments.
Downvote
Downvoting was introduced to Twitter a few months ago, and it was designed to help users flag content they found offensive or irrelevant. Previously, downvoting was reserved for replies, not for the original tweet. This method would be used in long conversations threads, but would be useless if you want to personalise your main feed. On Twitter, it’s important to keep content short and to the point.
Sparkly star
There are many ways to navigate through the Twitter interface. One way is to simply click on the three-star icon in the top-right corner of the Twitter interface. It’s here where you can switch between the various timeline views. If you’re on the home screen, you can use the Home icon to return to your feed or home screen. Alternatively, you can click on the three-star icon to switch to the search field.
