Can You No Longer Edit Posts on Facebook?
A question that has been bothering users for a while now is: Can you no longer edit posts on Facebook? Facebook reps have acknowledged that this change took place about a year ago, but it took some time to get to everyone. In fact, some users may not have even noticed the change, since the new editing system has been in place for so long. But there are ways to get back at your posts and hide them from your timeline.
Can you still edit posts on Facebook?
If you’re absent-minded and accidentally published something, Facebook lets you edit it. While this feature is handy for spotting typos, it can also be troublesome. It isn’t always clear who edited a post, which makes it difficult to prove who made the edit. See the article : How Do I Delete a Facebook Profile Picture?. Additionally, Facebook removed the “Edited” label next to edited posts, so you won’t be able to tell who edited your post. If you want to check the original post, you can view the revision history.
Besides text, you can also edit pictures on Facebook. Although you can’t edit photos on Facebook, you can edit their descriptions and location. If you’re unsure whether a photo has been posted on a public page, you can remove it. This option only applies to photos that you’ve shared on a public page. If you’re unsure of whether Facebook lets you delete or edit photos, you can always ask the person who posted the photo.
How to find the ‘Edited’ tag on a post
If you want to see which posts have been edited, you can click the gray ‘Edited’ tag on the right-hand side of the post’s status box. It will list all the edits that were made since the post was originally published. Read also : What Are the Best Facebook Groups to Join?. You can also view the original post and the edited version of the post by clicking the ‘View Edit History’ option on the top right of the post.
Until recently, Facebook posts did not show the ‘Edited’ tag next to the time stamp. However, that has changed. Previously, when someone made a mistake on a post, they could fix the error inconspicuously, but now, Facebook has removed this label and does not show the date of the edit. As such, it can be difficult to tell if someone has made a mistake on a post.
How to hide old posts from your timeline
If you want to remove older posts from your Facebook timeline, you can bulk delete or hide them. Hiding a post simply takes it off your timeline, but it’s still available to view if you want to see it again. Deleting a post permanently, however, means it will never be re-posted on your timeline. Similarly, you can also unhide a post by going to the activity log under your cover photo. On the mobile version, tap the arrow next to the post. On the web version, click the circle and select “Allowed on Timeline” to untag the post. You can repeat these steps as many times as you want. However, if you’re still interested in seeing a post, you should consider unhiding it first.
How to reschedule a post on Facebook
Whether you are in a hurry to send out a message or want to reach a large audience, there are several ways to reschedule a Facebook post. The first option is to log in to Facebook’s Pages Manager app. Click on the Create Post icon, choose a date and time for the post, and select a publishing option. After that, tap the Save button to publish the post.
If you have scheduled a post, you can easily change the time and date when it’s scheduled. The Scheduled button is located near the top-left corner of your Posts & Stories screen. To edit the content of the post, click on the edit icon. Then, add tags, photos, and other options in the bottom-right menu. Once finished, tap Next in the top-right corner to preview your post. Alternatively, you can choose to delete the post and republish it.
