However, the latter still has the most subscribers and the most-viewed videos in history. As of Nov. 20, 2020, the Baby Shark YouTube video has the most views. Although the video is a classic, it has been remixed and remade numerous times by different artists.<\/p>\n<p>This nursery rhyme has been used in various ways by law enforcement agencies, and a German version of the song reached number 25 on German dance charts. In the United States, the Baby Shark video was made by children&#8217;s entertainer Johnny Only, who had been performing it at summer camps for years and then uploaded it to YouTube. The video was later adapted by another artist, Pinkfong. It quickly went viral and gained millions of views.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Despacito\"><\/span>Despacito<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>&#8216;Despacito&#8217; has become the most-viewed video on YouTube. Last month, &#8220;Gangnam Style&#8221; by Wiz Khalifa topped the list with 2.4 billion views, but within two weeks, &#8216;Despacito&#8217; dethroned it to claim the top spot. Despacito has grown in popularity ever since it was first uploaded, and has now surpassed &#8216;See You Again&#8217; as the most-viewed video on YouTube. While &#8216;See You Again&#8217; was the most popular video for a few months, it was only uploaded two years ago.<\/p>\n<p>However, Baby Shark has managed to break the Despacito record, taking the title from the Spanish-language song. The popular children&#8217;s song, featuring rapper Daddy Yankee, was uploaded in June 2016, months before Despacito broke the record. &#8220;Despacito&#8221; held the top spot for more than three years before its dubbed remix was released. It topped the charts in August 2017.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Counting_Stars\"><\/span>Counting Stars<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Counting Stars is a song by OneRepublic from their third studio album, Native (1995). It was written and produced by lead singer Ryan Tedder, and was released as the band&#8217;s fourth single on June 14, 1995. The song peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100, and spent 25 consecutive weeks in the top ten. Counting Stars was the band&#8217;s highest-charting single in the US, and also topped the charts in a variety of countries. It also went on to sell over one million copies in the United Kingdom alone.<\/p>\n<p>Ryan Tedder&#8217;s song &#8220;Counting Stars&#8221; reached number one in a number of countries, and the music video was released in May 2013. In April 2020, the video is officially the YouTube video with the most views. The music video was shot in New Orleans, Louisiana, and was the first music video to surpass one billion views. The video&#8217;s strong commercial performance helped it reach the billion-view mark quickly, but it lost to Pitbull&#8217;s &#8220;Timber&#8221; video.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Shape_of_You\"><\/span>Shape of You<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>A simple four-chord pop song, &#8220;Shape of You&#8221; by Ed Sheeran has become one of the most popular YouTube videos of all time. The video has also become the second fastest to hit the one billion, two billion, and three billion views milestone. The video has accumulated more than 4.6 billion views on YouTube since its release in January 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;Shape of You&#8221; video has surpassed the previous record by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth&#8217;s &#8220;See You Again.&#8221; Although the two songs have very similar styles, the former is still ahead by a few million clicks, and it is expected that the two will eventually catch up. Ed Sheeran&#8217;s previous video, &#8220;Thinking Out Loud,&#8221; has accumulated 2.5 billion views.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Taylor_Swifts_Girlfriend\"><\/span>Taylor Swift&#8217;s &#8220;Girlfriend&#8221;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>While it may not seem like a good reason to make a video, the most popular video on YouTube is actually a song written by Taylor Swift herself. It&#8217;s called &#8220;We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,&#8221; and it has over 614 million views. In the video, Taylor is dressed in colorful pajamas with Noah Mills playing her former boyfriend. While the song may not be about the couple, the underlying message is about picking yourself up after a heartbreak.<\/p>\n<p>The official music video for Taylor Swift&#8217;s 2013 song &#8220;Girlfriend&#8221; has racked up over 1.1 billion views. The video featured Swift as a zombie with references to rumors. The song was released on Feb. 25, 2013 and features a vengeful girlfriend who gets revenge on her boyfriend.
