This will highlight the comment at the top of the thread, making it the first comment that shows up when users open the comment section. There are three ways to pin a comment: tap the &#8220;+&#8221; icon on the left side of the comment box, swipe left, or tap the PIN icon on the right side of the comment box. You can unpin a pinned comment at any time, too.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re looking for ways to increase engagement with your audience, pin comments from people who are your customers. For example, if you&#8217;re launching an SPF moisturizer, pin comments about ingredients, availability, and sustainable packaging to increase visibility for these questions. Pinning these comments will prevent you from answering the same questions multiple times, and you&#8217;ll have a better chance of getting repeat responses.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Hide_offensive_comments\"><\/span>Hide offensive comments<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In an effort to address online bullying, Instagram is beginning to hide potentially offensive comments from public view. If you want to keep your followers safe, you can do so by hiding offensive comments from public view. To do this, log in to your account and click the settings icon. Click on the &#8220;comments&#8221; section and scroll down to the bottom. Scroll down and you&#8217;ll see a new category called Default Keywords. Next to it, find the &#8220;Hide offensive comments&#8221; toggle. Currently, only English-speaking users can turn off this feature, but Instagram is working on expanding it to other languages as well.<\/p>\n<p>The good news is that Instagram&#8217;s comment moderation system is getting smarter. It can now use machine learning to detect offensive comments, taking context into account. That means less false-positives, which is a great thing. According to Wired, the new comment moderation system will automatically block comments from appearing for everyone, including the person who flagged them. Unfortunately, this doesn&#8217;t help users in the long run.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Unpin_a_comment\"><\/span>Unpin a comment<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you have a comment on your Instagram post that you don&#8217;t like, you can unpin it. To do this, you just swipe to the left and tap on the thumbtack icon. This allows you to swap out a comment with a different one. When you pin a comment, it appears at the top of the post and in the comment summary in the feed. Instagram allows users to pin up to three comments. Pinnable comments get more views and get more comments.<\/p>\n<p>Pinned comments stay at the top of the comments thread. This means it is easier to monitor them. Pinning your comment will trigger a notification, making your Instacrush aware that you&#8217;ve pinned their comment. However, if you only want to pin three comments, you can try pinning them one at a time. This way, your Instacrush will see all your comments.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Retweet_a_pinned_comment\"><\/span>Retweet a pinned comment<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Retweeting a pinned comment on Instagram is now possible. The platform allows users to pin their own comments, but this option isn&#8217;t available to all users. You can, however, delete and reply to the comment you wish to retweet. In other words, retweeting a pinned comment can help you spread the word about a particular post.<\/p>\n<p>Pinned comments on Instagram were first spotted in May and subsequently announced. They will also allow users to bulk-delete comments and restrict who can mention or tag them in their feed. This new feature is focused on steering conversations and limiting bullying, rather than simply removing a negative comment. If you have a pinned comment on Instagram, you&#8217;ll want to retweet it as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Delete_a_pinned_comment\"><\/span>Delete a pinned comment<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>When someone tags you in a post, you can highlight the comments that you want to show up at the top of the thread. In addition, if you choose to pin more than one comment, the one that is pinned at the top will be the featured comment and will be the first one that people see when they open the comment section. However, if you want to remove a pinned comment, you can do so by following the steps outlined in this guide.<\/p>\n<p>To remove a pinned comment on Instagram, you can swipe left on the comment and press the trash can icon. However, you should be careful not to swipe too quickly or it will remove the comment. When deleting a comment on Instagram, you should double-check that you did not delete it by mistake.
