In the previous section, we discussed DMs, which are private messages, and Blocking, which is an option available to all users. But what is Restrict, and how do I use it? Here are a few details. First, let’s clarify what it is. It’s the ability to block users based on the username they’ve used on the platform.

Blocking

What is restricting on Instagram? The new feature will allow users to hide comments with certain keywords or phrases. Instagram’s CEO describes this move as a “holistic approach” to safety. Restrict has been tested in a small number of communities and will be rolled out to all users later this year. The company is still testing the feature, so we’ll have to wait and see how it works in the real world.

The restriction feature is designed to stop persistent trolls from posting spam and commercials on users’ accounts. If a user repeatedly posts an ad or a link to a scam or MLM scheme, then he/she will be restricted. Restricting will also prevent other users from seeing inappropriate comments. Nevertheless, you should always check if the restriction is working before making the switch to it permanently.

Restricting

The new restriction feature on Instagram is designed to limit the amount of content that users can see from others. By restricting a user, they are preventing the posting of advertisements, MLM schemes, and links to scams. Although they cannot see any of these messages, users can still see the comments and reactions that other people post on their photos. Messages from restricted users will be located in the Message Request section. Instagram hopes that this will help reduce online bullying.

If someone restricts your account, they won’t be able to post comments. Instead, their comments will be moved to your Requested folder, ensuring that only the people you want to communicate with will see your comments. This way, they won’t be bothered by the fact that you are not accepting their comments. However, if you do receive a message from someone who has blocked you, they will see that you have blocked them.

Unrestricting

When you have restricted a person’s Instagram account, you can reverse this restriction by going to their profile and tapping on the Direct option at the top right corner. You can also enter the person’s name and profile to find their profile. Once you have found them, tap on the Unrestrict option in the bottom right corner of their profile. Unrestricting a person on Instagram will remove the restriction and allow them to engage with you.

Besides blocking direct messages and comments, you can also restrict people’s access to your Instagram profile. This feature is great for brands and public figures, as it prevents them from receiving hateful comments from people who are restricted. It is also useful for preventing negative comments from being sent to the person who posted them. But you should always keep in mind that people can still see other people’s profiles if they are restricted.

DMs

If you’ve blocked an account on Instagram, you may have noticed that you can’t view the messages sent to that account. If that’s the case, your messages will be redirected to your “Message Requests” inbox, which is similar to your junk mail folder. Though you can still read these messages, they’ll be sent to a different inbox. If you block someone on Instagram, they can’t see your messages until you unblock them.

If you don’t want to risk being blocked, you can use a third-party application to read and respond to DMs. The DMpro app allows you to receive DMs through email, and you can also reply via email. The signup form is simple and requires no credit card information. If you’d like to use the DMs feature on Instagram, you’ll need to consider a number of options, which are outlined below.

Comments

You can restrict comments on Instagram, but not all comments can be seen. In order to make comments visible to everyone, first open up your Instagram account. After that, swipe left over the comments that you don’t want to see. Once you’ve made a decision, click on the “approve” button next to a comment to make it public. However, if you don’t want others to see the comments, you can also delete them.

If you want to view the comments left by a restricted user, simply tap the “See Comment” link at the bottom of a post. From there, you can either approve or delete the comment. The restricted person won’t be notified when someone posts a comment, and it’s up to them to decide which ones to view and approve. If you don’t want the person to see your comments, you can also restrict all their comments for a group of accounts.

IGTV video

You may be wondering why your IGTV video is restricted on Instagram. The answer is simple: Instagram wants to share its ad revenue with content creators. For a year, the company has hinted at monetisation on IGTV. On Wednesday, it confirmed that ads will now appear in the feeds of 200 approved English-speaking content creators. As part of the update, Instagram will take a 55% cut of all ad revenue from those 200 content creators.

If you’d like to watch IGTV videos but your region is not allowed, the solution is a VPN. VPNs have military-grade encryption and don’t log your data, so you’ll never be tracked. You can also bypass regional restrictions and social network censorship using a VPN. It’s worth noting that VPNs tend to be a bit more expensive than other VPNs. However, you’ll benefit from a 30-day money-back guarantee and a dedicated profile.

What is Restricting on Instagram?
