In this article, we&#8217;ll cover the Unsend feature, using the DMpro app, and downloading messages before deleting them. After you learn how to delete messages, you&#8217;ll be able to remove all unwanted conversations and keep only the ones you truly want to see. Then, you&#8217;ll have a clean Instagram account again.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Unsend_feature\"><\/span>Unsend feature<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Have you ever wondered how to unsend an Instagram message? It may seem like a good idea, but this feature actually has its drawbacks. For example, if you accidentally unsend a message to a crush, your crush will see it and ask you why. There are two ways to undo this. The first way is to delete the DM from the recipient&#8217;s notifications. The other method is to restore it by following the same instructions as above.<\/p>\n<p>To remove an unsent message, open the Instagram application, select the profile of the person, and then choose settings, then click &#8220;Delete Account.&#8221; Enter your password to confirm the deletion. Fortunately, unsending a message isn&#8217;t that weird, but it&#8217;s still risky. In case you change your mind, you can always go back to the message in question by clicking the menu. The unread message will then be gone, leaving no trace of the original message.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Vanish_mode\"><\/span>Vanish mode<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you have ever wondered how to clear Instagram chat disappear mode, there are several steps you can take. First of all, you need to download the latest version of the Instagram app and Messenger. Once you have installed them, open the chat page and tap on the chat icon. From here, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to enable vanish mode. You will see that a bunch of &#8220;Shush&#8221; emojis will start flying. After you have enabled vanish mode, swipe up again to exit the chat. Note that messages will still be visible in the recipient&#8217;s chat window, just not to you.<\/p>\n<p>Once you have done this, select the text that you want to delete. You can also select the &#8220;unsend&#8221; option. This option will remove the conversation from your phone&#8217;s memory. Upon returning to the conversation, you will not be able to see any more text from the conversation. However, this method is not available on all mobile devices. If you do not have access to the iOS or Android apps, you can open the Chat Settings menu on your phone.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"DMpro_app\"><\/span>DMpro app<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you want to delete conversations on Instagram, there are two ways to do it. You can either delete individual messages or select conversations and then swipe to clear them. DMPro is a handy application that will help you do both. Simply swipe left on a conversation, then select &#8216;delete&#8217; to clear all your messages. Alternatively, you can select individual messages and then tap &#8216;delete&#8217; to remove them.<\/p>\n<p>DMpro allows you to recover deleted DMs. To access these messages, you have to sign up for a DMpro account and connect your Instagram account. Then, open the DM Inbox tab and you will see a list of messages in an email-like environment. If you are unable to find a specific DM, try typing in the user&#8217;s name or username and the DMpro app will restore the messages.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Downloading_messages_before_deleting\"><\/span>Downloading messages before deleting<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In case you are thinking of deleting your Instagram chat history, it is highly recommended that you download all your conversations beforehand. Taking screenshots of your Instagram chats is not a viable option because they take up valuable space in your photo gallery. Moreover, screenshots won&#8217;t catch voice notes. In order to capture them, you need to scroll through your Instagram chats. To capture a screenshot, hold the power button and volume-down key simultaneously. You will then receive a download link in your email inbox.<\/p>\n<p>If you wish to delete messages on Instagram, you can either sign out of the app or delete them manually. While unsending a message will delete the message for everyone in the conversation, it will still notify the recipient of the message. To delete a message, open the app, find the conversation, press the paper airplane icon, and confirm its deletion. Be sure to read the warning message before sending any messages.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Blocking_users\"><\/span>Blocking users<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You may want to block certain Instagram users. Instagram will not delete their old comments or tags. Once you block someone, you will not be able to see what they&#8217;ve posted or who&#8217;s followed them. In addition, you won&#8217;t be able to comment on their new posts or see what they&#8217;ve said in the past. So if you&#8217;d like to continue chatting with them, you&#8217;ll have to unblock them first.<\/p>\n<p>First, you can check whether they&#8217;ve blocked you by logging into your account. If they haven&#8217;t, then they&#8217;re probably not receiving your messages. You can unblock them by going to your Instagram chat profile and confirming that you&#8217;ve blocked them. Once you&#8217;ve blocked them, they won&#8217;t be able to send you any more messages.
