There are many ways to make a fleet that are more visually appealing than your average tweet. Twitter offers a simple way to turn an existing tweet into a fleet. To make a fleet, simply choose a tweet from someone else or yourself. Then click the Share icon (a box with an upward pointing arrow). You can still add text to your fleet and change its background and color.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Customize_the_background\"><\/span>Customize the background<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Twitter is testing adding an image background to Fleets. This update is meant to add context to Fleets. Instead of having an arbitrary gray background, users can now use an image or video from their phone&#8217;s camera roll. Users can also use Fleet composer stickers to add different elements. Twitter is expected to release the new feature on 20 April for iOS users. No word on when it will be made available for Android users.<\/p>\n<p>With this new feature, Twitter&#8217;s fleets can now be customized to reflect the brand&#8217;s culture. Unlike regular tweets, fleets disappear after 24 hours. This makes them an excellent option for brand cultures that may have otherwise been difficult to communicate through traditional means. If you&#8217;d like to get more out of Twitter, consider creating a custom background for your Fleets. The only downside of customizing the background of your Fleets is that you&#8217;ll have to manually delete them.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Add_text\"><\/span>Add text<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>There are a few things that you should keep in mind when you&#8217;re posting on Twitter, and one of those is the use of alt text. Whether it&#8217;s for a caption, a photo, or a video, the alt text should be descriptive and contextual. Make sure that the length is under 125 characters, as screen readers will automatically cut off text that is longer than that. Below are some tips to keep in mind when adding text to your Twitter Fleets account.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to text, you can include images, GIFs, and videos. You can also make your text bigger or smaller by pinching the screen. You can also change the background color or drag text to different positions on the screen. Finally, you can publish your Fleet. Followers will be notified of your posts, and your Fleets will appear in their feeds. However, you should note that you cannot reply to them publicly.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Add_gifs\"><\/span>Add gifs<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>How to add Gifs to Fleets on Twitter? There are a few different ways to do this. First, you&#8217;ll need to open Fleets. Click the smiley face icon. You&#8217;ll then see a selection of social sharing icons, including a GIF icon. Click on a GIF to attach it to your tweet. This feature also works with Stickers and animated emojis, known as Twemojis.<\/p>\n<p>After enabling Fleets, you can add stickers or GIFs to your tweets. The first way is to create a new Fleet, similar to what you&#8217;d do with Instagram Stories. After composing your Fleet, tap the emoji icon. Next, search for the GIF you want to include. You can search for gifs in a variety of places, including Twitter itself and specialized GIF apps. You may also want to use Tweetbot and Aviary, but they don&#8217;t currently support Fleets.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Add_emojis\"><\/span>Add emojis<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you&#8217;re looking for a more interesting alternative to pictures in your Fleets, you can now add animated emojis to the app. Animated emojis, or Twemojis, can be added to Fleets by pressing the smiley face icon. Fleets also supports the ability to resize stickers, which is particularly useful if you&#8217;re sharing them with others.<\/p>\n<p>Twitter has also recently launched new emoji stickers called Twemojis. These are animated versions of popular emojis that you can drag and drop onto your Fleets. The new feature is currently rolling out to iOS users. The app is expected to add more emoji options in the future, especially since Twitter bought Chroma Labs, which was behind the Chroma Stories app.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Live_broadcast\"><\/span>Live broadcast<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Twitter is tearing down its Fleets feature, which allows users to stream live video of their lives. The feature competed with Instagram stories and Snapchat stories for users&#8217; attention, but Dorsey, who founded Twitter in 2006, is not the sole person responsible for the decision. Twitter had previously said it was testing ads inside Fleets, which would have made the feature more monetizable. However, Dorsey said he was no longer interested in testing ads inside Fleets.<\/p>\n<p>Twitter announced the new feature in Brazil in November 2020. Fleets allow users to broadcast live videos, photos, GIFs, and reactions to other users&#8217; tweets, and are permanent after 24 hours. They don&#8217;t receive likes or direct replies from followers, but can be replied to privately. They also live above the timeline, making it easier to share spontaneous content.
