Although he has pushed for a more relaxed moderation on the social media platform, he has refused to ban news broadcasts from Russia and urged users to keep their tweets civil and respectful. If Twitter cannot complete the deal, it will legally sue Musk. Tesla has not yet responded to the lawsuit. Elon Musk&#8217;s decision to withdraw from Twitter&#8217;s purchase deal is not surprising, however.<\/p>\n<p>Since May, Tesla&#8217;s CEO has been questioning the terms of the deal when he buys Twitter. He has accused the company of withholding information. Twitter has denied this, saying it was acting in good faith and is providing everything the deal requires. But one person familiar with the discussions claims the company is being uncooperative with Musk. If the SEC decides to withdraw from the deal, Elon Musk could be charged a $1 billion penalty.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Impact_on_Twitters_financial_condition\"><\/span>Impact on Twitter&#8217;s financial condition<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The impact of Elon Musk&#8217;s purchase of Twitter is unknown, but if it goes through, the social network could be significantly better off. However, this is not the only reason why investors have been wary of Musk&#8217;s deal.<\/p>\n<p>While many have been skeptical of Musk, the Tesla CEO has already earned credibility among conservatives. His deal with Twitter has the backing of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and more than a dozen Republican members of Congress. In addition, the company&#8217;s new leadership is also backed by several Republican governors. However, this move has some employees worried about what Musk could do next. In addition to this, Musk has threatened to walk away from the deal if he feels that Twitter is not in his best interests. However, the terms of the deal are still intact. Twitter has to approve the deal before it can go through, but that&#8217;s far from guaranteed.<\/p>\n<p>Musk&#8217;s threats to walk away from the Twitter deal are not surprising. The company has been in a tizzy for several weeks. His public statements have sounded more like a renegotiation than a retraction. Earlier this month, Musk warned that the deal could be dead in the water if Twitter does not address the bot issue. Musk also said that the company has a&#8217;significantly lower&#8217; bot population than it claims.
