In fact, the rumor mill is rife with theories about Dorsey’s sudden departure. Investor pressure is said to have been a big factor, though some people also believe that he resigned over moderation issues. And that’s probably true, too. The lack of an edit button was a major source of frustration for the Twitter CEO.

Dorsey’s resignation was seen as a way for Twitter to take bigger risks

Jack Dorsey’s resignation as CEO was long expected. The former Square CEO is pursuing a blockchain-based decentralization project and has spent much of his time talking about this than Twitter. Elliott Management, which has invested heavily in Twitter, tried to push him out last year but failed. Twitter was a great company for Jack Dorsey to learn and grow. He left the company in 2008 and returned to the role in 2015. In recent months, the company has ramped up its monetization efforts, introducing Twitter Blue, a subscription service. However, Dorsey resigned in December 2015 after just a year.

While Twitter has long been a Silicon Valley icon, many critics have questioned the CEO’s leadership style. During his tenure, Jack Dorsey was the first CEO to publicly penalize former president Donald Trump, and in 2018 he announced that his company had reached a point of mediocrity, and invited outside help to fix it. In March, he appeared before Congress and irked lawmakers by tweeting during the hearing. While this prompted widespread criticism, Dorsey’s resignation was seen as a way for Twitter to take bigger risks.

Dorsey’s moderation issues have been a persistent irritation for him

In a recent e-mail to employees, Jack Dorsey said he was leaving Twitter because the company is becoming too “founder-led,” a status that can be weak over time. The founder-led approach to startup management has also been problematic, as few founders have opted for the company’s future over their egos. While this is not entirely surprising, Dorsey’s leadership has long been questioned by his employees. A recent attempt by Elliott Management to buy Twitter has also fueled some concerns about his leadership.

Twitter stock has lost some of its gains in recent months, but is still worth about the same as it was a year ago. In its third quarter, Twitter reported a 37 percent revenue increase but a loss of $537 million. Meanwhile, lawmakers are demanding more from Dorsey. He has also faced accusations of censorship. Despite the controversy surrounding Dorsey, he has long maintained that he sees Twitter as a “platform for free speech.”

Investor pressure was a factor in his resignation

Agrawal’s choice as the new Twitter CEO is a logical one, but his lack of management experience could be problematic. He had no direct reports for much of Dorsey’s tenure, and the resignation was closely guarded. Agrawal has been a fan of decentralization and the open web, and pushed Twitter to fund the Bluesky project to create the future of social media.

Agrawal and Elliott Management, two hedge fund giants, had sought Dorsey’s replacement. The two companies reached a compromise last year, with Elliott Management gaining a majority stake and a seat on the Twitter board. The two sides agreed to put a single executive on Twitter’s board and create a five-member committee to oversee the succession process.

Other reasons that may have contributed to Durban’s resignation include the fact that Elon Musk, the chief executive of electric car giant Tesla, is the biggest shareholder of Twitter. Musk has publicly declared that Twitter needs to go private in order to grow and become a true platform for free speech. After Musk’s detailed financing plan for Twitter on Thursday, many Twitter shareholders contacted the company to express their support for this deal.

Dorsey blamed Twitter for not getting an edit button

The social network is considering adding an edit function to its platform. Twitter’s CEO Jack Dorsey said it’s been examining “use cases” for an edit button. Such a feature would allow users to easily correct typos and remove the original meaning of a tweet. It’s a common request among Twitter users. Dorsey said he’s aware of the difficulty of editing tweets.

But some Twitter users aren’t happy with the current system. The company’s reversal of course angered some users. Others took the message literally and slammed the company for messing with its users. Others took the April Fools’ Day joke seriously. Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey apologized for the situation, but still faced criticism from users who took it too seriously. However, some were angry at the joke and called for a fix.

In November 2016, Twitter was plagued by harassment, bullying, and abuse. In a blog post, Dorsey apologized for the problem. He asked Twitter users for feedback on how to improve its service, and one of the most requested features was an edit button. Twitter’s users had grown increasingly frustrated with the lack of an edit button. They even called for a new feature for verified users only.

Why Did CEO of Twitter Resign?
