This change is meant to give Twitter users more control over their conversations, but it may also stoke resentment among those who are not so keen on trolling. The change has not yet been implemented, however, so developers will still need to work out how to address the problem.<\/p>\n<p>The new feature was initially tested in the U.S. and Canada in July, and will be released globally in September. The testing process was conducted in the web and mobile platforms. The results showed that users overwhelmingly opted to hide their replies instead of using more restrictive controls. Additionally, 27% of users surveyed said they would reconsider future interactions with certain people.
