The answer is a mix of Google, Alphabet, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim. Some of the most prominent owners are still not publicly known, but it is important to understand who is behind the popular video platform. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at each of them, along with the reasons why they’re so important to the video site’s success.

Alphabet

YouTube is an important part of Alphabet. The video-sharing service is responsible for 11% of Alphabet’s overall revenue, and the stock has been on a one-way train higher for the past several years. When companies make a good buy, they tend to reward shareholders by boosting their stocks. YouTube is no exception, and Alphabet is poised to hit $3,000 very soon. This is a fantastic time to invest in Alphabet stock.

YouTube has been making lots of money recently. The video-sharing platform reported a $15 billion revenue in its latest earnings release. That’s about 10% of Alphabet’s overall sales, a sign of its success. And it’s not the only one. Several other companies are getting in on the action. But how much money is Alphabet making? The video-sharing site has recently made headlines for its controversy over advertisers’ ads being shown in videos containing hate speech.

Google

YouTube is a social media platform and online video sharing website that was launched on February 14, 2005. It was founded by Steve Chen, Chad Hurley, and Jawed Karim and is owned by Google. After Google Search, YouTube is the second most visited website in the world. As of May 2018, it has over one billion users worldwide. It has become a popular destination for those looking for the latest entertainment, music, and more.

Initially, YouTube relys on angel investors, and was based out of Susan Wojcicki’s garage. After three years, the site had more than a billion viewers each month. By summer 2006, YouTube had more than 100 million videos uploaded every day. Google eventually bought YouTube for $1.65 billion, and the video-sharing site will continue to operate from San Bruno. But how much of that money is actually coming from advertising?

Jawed Karim

If you’re not familiar with Jawed Karim, you should be. The video maker has an interesting background. His father, a former Microsoft executive, was a college dropout who wanted to become a computer programmer. He also studied computer science at Stanford University. In February 2005, he became an informal adviser to YouTube. His first YouTube video was titled “Me at the zoo” and has since received nearly 213 million views.

After moving to the United States at a young age, Jawed Karim enrolled in Saint Paul Central High School. He graduated with distinction in 1997. The founder of YouTube has many followers. The internet sensation has a brother named Ilias. However, there is no information about his religion. He grew up in Neuss, West Germany. The family later relocated to Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Steve Chen

YouTube was founded by Steve Chen in February 2005. In just 20 months, the video sharing site became the most popular web page. It caught the attention of Yahoo and Google, and Chen organized meetings with them in Redwood, California, at Denny’s restaurant. Eventually, Google bought YouTube for $1 billion. Today, YouTube is one of the most popular websites in the world, and Chen is an entrepreneur who’s been involved in many other startups.

YouTube started in a garage, and its founders lived in a Menlo Park suburb. Initially, the two men worked from their homes, and eventually moved into offices that were plagued with rats and mice. They agreed to create a software package for sharing videos, and they raised $3.5 million from venture capital investors. Chen’s vision for YouTube was a success, and the company launched in December 2005 with a flick called “Me at the zoo.” Its growth was impressive: by the end of 2005, it had 34 million unique visitors per month and over 100 million videos in its archive. At the time, Chen and Hurley were still students at Stanford, but had figured out the next big thing.

Yu Pan

Yu Pan is a well-known technology speaker. As the first employee of YouTube, he built the video sharing site from the ground up. He speaks frequently on computer science and trends. In addition to YouTube, he also founded several other companies, and currently serves as CTO of a third. He is also an integral advisor to business owners of all types. You can learn more about Yu Pan’s background below. He has an extensive background in internet technologies, having founded and run PayPal, Origin Protocol, and KiwiCo, Incorporated.

Yu Pan is an engineer by training. He has founded several artificial intelligence start-up companies and has a Bachelors of Science in computer science from the University of Illinois. YouTube’s founders credited him with building the company’s technology and infrastructure. The video-sharing website has more than 300 million registered users worldwide, and the company aims to grow to a billion dollars by 2019.

Who Owns YouTube?
