Despite Facebook&#8217;s features, these options aren&#8217;t available globally. The Facebook algorithm is driven by engagement, and removing comments can make your post less engaging and hurt your PR. However, companies don&#8217;t tend to turn off comments unless they need to comply with a specific policy.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Limiting_who_can_comment\"><\/span>Limiting who can comment<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Changing the settings on your Facebook profile now lets you limit who can comment on a post. This new feature allows you to select the number of comments that you want to receive on a post, so that only friends or other people you tag can leave a comment. The new feature will help you keep your posts and profile free of hate speech. In addition, you can now restrict comments on public posts to friends of friends.<\/p>\n<p>Many media companies have asked Facebook to change its policy regarding the comments that can be left on their posts. Last month, the news media bargaining code was passed by parliament. One provision included in the exposure draft required platforms to moderate comments but was later removed. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) also made a submission to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), arguing that if Facebook does not implement this change, news media organisations will be forced to increase their moderation resourcing, withdraw some products, and face negative public relations issues.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Blocking_specific_words\"><\/span>Blocking specific words<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you&#8217;ve ever wished that you could block specific words on a Facebook post, now&#8217;s the time to do it. Facebook recently announced that it will begin testing a new feature called &#8220;Keyword Snooze,&#8221; which allows you to block posts containing certain keywords for up to 30 days. While this new feature won&#8217;t be available for all posts, it will allow you to block specific words or emojis from appearing in your News Feed.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike blocking specific words, blocking profanity is more complex and involves a different method. Facebook determines which words are most offensive and enables you to choose the degree of filtering. You can choose between strong, medium, and low filtering to control the level of censorship. Once you&#8217;ve chosen a degree of filtering, you can click Save Changes to apply the changes. Depending on the level of censorship that you&#8217;d like, you can even block a specific category of words.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Hide_comments\"><\/span>Hide comments<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>When you write a Facebook post, you may want to hide some of the comments. This way, you can control what people see, but you won&#8217;t receive notifications about each comment. The downside to this method is that it can lead to community management problems if you overuse it. There are a few benefits to this option, though. Here are some of them:<\/p>\n<p>First, you can use the option to hide irrelevant comments. It is a good idea to do this if you receive negative comments. You can still reply to them if you feel they are a legitimate issue. By doing this, you will show that you take responsibility for your brand. Secondly, you will not be accused of being a troll or spammer, which are both unacceptable. The goal is to keep the comments section clean.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Delete_comments\"><\/span>Delete comments<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Facebook lets you delete comments on your post for a variety of reasons. Some people simply don&#8217;t like what other people have to say, while others may have an issue with your commenting style. The process for deleting comments on a Facebook post is easy if you follow these simple steps. First, log in to your Facebook account. Then, go to your profile and click on your name. This will open a window where you can edit your information. From here, you can also delete any comments that are offensive to you or to others.<\/p>\n<p>Click the drop-down menu to open your notification panel. Next, click the comment you want to remove. In most cases, you will need to be the group administrator or the original poster of the post to delete a comment. If this is not possible, report the problem using the question mark icon.
