His parents are Klaus Friedrich Thiel and Susanne Thiel. He is the elder brother of Patrick Michael Thiel. His wife is named Matt Danzeisen. They have a son, Peter Andreas, who was born in 1969. He has three children. Instagram is Thiel&#8217;s latest venture. The company he founded has over 800 million users worldwide.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Kevin_Systrom\"><\/span>Kevin Systrom<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Kevin Systrom is a founder of the photo-sharing social network Instagram. He is a computer programmer and entrepreneur who was born in Concord, Massachusetts. He attended Stanford University and later became a Mayfield Fellow. While at Stanford, he worked at the startup Odeo, which gave rise to Twitter. He also won Founder of the Year at the 6th Annual Crunchies Awards. His first venture, Burbn, was acquired by Burbn in 2009.<\/p>\n<p>After gaining popularity among users and investors, Instagram was sold to Facebook in April 2012 for $715 million. The company has since undergone several rounds of funding and is now valued at $4 billion. However, since Facebook did not take a hands-on approach to the business, Systrom continues to run it. During the prototyping phase, he has contributed to the Explore tab, filters, and the X-Pro II.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Mike_Krieger\"><\/span>Mike Krieger<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Mike Krieger, who owns Instagram, is a Stanford alum. He founded Burbn, a social location app, before developing Instagram, a photo filter application that combined a social feed and photo filters. The two entrepreneurs spent years working on Instagram and eventually sold the company to Facebook for $715 million. Instagram continued to grow while Facebook provided Krieger and his team with the resources necessary to maintain the service.<\/p>\n<p>Krieger, a Stanford graduate, is responsible for the creation of Instagram, which has over 1 billion active users. Mark Zuckerberg viewed Instagram as a competitor and, in the end, neutralized it with considerable cost.
