Once you&#8217;ve completed these steps, you can leave Facebook groups and stop getting unwanted messages.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Remove_yourself_from_a_Facebook_group\"><\/span>Remove yourself from a Facebook group<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The first step to remove yourself from a Facebook group is to navigate to the group&#8217;s page. Then, tap the left-hand arrow next to the join button. A drop-down menu will appear. Click on the blue Leave Group button to confirm your decision. Repeat the steps if you wish to rejoin the group. If you wish to leave a Facebook group, follow the same process described above. Once you have completed all steps, you can then delete the group.<\/p>\n<p>You can also remove yourself from a group by clicking the &#8220;About&#8221; tab in the top-right corner of the screen. Tap the gear icon to the left of your name. Once you&#8217;ve clicked &#8220;Unfollow,&#8221; all group posts will disappear from your timeline. It&#8217;s also helpful to unfollow a group that you&#8217;ve become less active in. That way, you can take a break before removing yourself completely from it.<\/p>\n<p>Once you&#8217;ve removed yourself from a group, the administrators of the group can no longer manage it. The creator of the group may appoint other members as admins, which will keep the group moderation function intact. However, if you&#8217;re the only group admin, you should consider deleting the group. Fortunately, Facebook can automatically invite new admins if you&#8217;re the only one left.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Stop_posts_from_showing_up_in_your_feed\"><\/span>Stop posts from showing up in your feed<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In some cases, the posts of Facebook groups are displayed on the news feed. These posts are often inappropriate or offensive and are visible to members only. If you are in such a group, you can disable notifications to prevent them from showing up in your news feed. You can also make your posts invisible to others by enabling the private mode for the group. This setting will ensure that only the people who want to see the posts can see them.<\/p>\n<p>Unfollowing a group&#8217;s posts is similar to unsubscribing to it. Once you leave a group, all of its posts will stop appearing on your news feed. To remove posts from your timeline, you simply click on the triple-dotted icon next to the group. This will remove the group from your timeline. You can then choose to follow other groups instead. This option is useful when you want to follow other groups that share similar interests with your own.<\/p>\n<p>Changing the privacy setting in your group will not delete posts that you want to see in your news feed. However, you can hide posts from your news feed by blocking the admin of the group. This will also prevent your posts from being shown in your news feed. Lastly, if you leave a group that you have no interest in, block posts from showing up in your feed by following the group admin.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Enable_prevention_to_prevent_people_from_inviting_you_to_join_a_group\"><\/span>Enable prevention to prevent people from inviting you to join a group<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you would like to avoid being invited to a Facebook group by people you do not know, you should enable prevention for the group. Group membership opens the door for spam and other malicious activities. You can be bombarded with updates that contain phishing links, software downloads, or other nefarious content. This can be detrimental to your brand and can affect your reputation.<\/p>\n<p>If you have friends that regularly invite you to a Facebook group, you can also prevent them from doing this. Simply send them a message with a &#8220;do not invite me to this group!&#8221; message. If you are invited to a group by someone you know, you&#8217;ll be sent an email that says you have been added. However, you can still receive group notifications or updates through your News Feed.<\/p>\n<p>However, once you&#8217;ve been added to a group, you can&#8217;t be removed from it. Instead, Facebook allows you to send reminders to group members so that you do not have to worry about being added to a group you don&#8217;t want to be in. However, this can be annoying and affect your group&#8217;s overall number of members.
