Today, it processes over 1 million payments a day, both through ads and games. This is all done securely and the company employs additional controls and monitoring of its payment systems.<\/p>\n<p>In order to use Facebook Pay, you need to link a PayPal or bank account to your Facebook account. After you connect your bank or PayPal account, you can send money to another Facebook user. However, if the recipient doesn&#8217;t have a PayPal or bank account linked to Facebook, the payment can fail. Additionally, if the recipient is located in a different country, payments may also fail. Generally, payments will succeed in cases where the recipient is a United States citizen.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Currency_settings_are_only_available_once_every_72_hours\"><\/span>Currency settings are only available once every 72 hours<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The currency settings on Facebook can only be changed once in the past 72 hours. It&#8217;s difficult to change currencies on Facebook as you cannot trust the banks not to mark up the conversion rates, so changing the currency setting is not possible every time you make a payment. Facebook doesn&#8217;t charge a fee to convert currencies, but it&#8217;s impossible to ensure they won&#8217;t do so. If you&#8217;re interested in changing your currency on Facebook, follow these steps:<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Limitations_of_Facebooks_payment_system\"><\/span>Limitations of Facebook&#8217;s payment system<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>While Facebook has enlisted financial industry experts to develop the Messenger payment system, there are still some limitations. Although Facebook has pledged not to store any payment information, it is possible to send money to your friends and family. One problem with this approach is the lack of trust that Facebook has in its users. However, Facebook&#8217;s payment system makes it easier to make purchases and send money to people you know. It also offers fraud detection and biometric security. Facebook will also provide live support between 6 AM and 6 PM (PT).<\/p>\n<p>The first limitation of Facebook&#8217;s payment system is that it is open to scams. It is therefore important to protect yourself by not clicking links sent by strangers and always keep your password confidential. In addition to that, Facebook&#8217;s payment system also encrypts user information to prevent hacking. It also requires users to confirm their identities with PINs and personal information. If so, you&#8217;re not alone. Other online payment methods have the same issue: they don&#8217;t offer password protection or PIN codes. Even though this option is available for Facebook, you&#8217;ll still need a Facebook password to send money. Fortunately, Facebook does have a solution for this. You can turn on password protection for Messenger, so your money won&#8217;t be stolen or lost.<\/p>\n<p>Once you&#8217;ve set up your account, Facebook will ask you for payment information. As of the summer of 2021, only debit cards will be accepted. To be able to use this option, you must have a valid MasterCard or Visa card. When sending money through Facebook, you&#8217;ll need to enter your debit card&#8217;s number, expiration date, validation code, and billing zip code. After clicking the &#8220;Pay&#8221; button, Facebook will ask for this information.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Limits_of_using_Facebook_Messenger_to_send_money\"><\/span>Limits of using Facebook Messenger to send money<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You may have noticed that there are limits to using Facebook Messenger to send money. Facebook does not advertise its payment limits. It is possible that your recipient may reject your payment, or your account may not be fully funded. If these happen, you may want to check with your bank to see if your payment is accepted in your country. If you are not sure whether a person is trustworthy, consider sending them a quick message to ask about any limitations.<\/p>\n<p>To make payments through Facebook Messenger, you must have an active Facebook account, a U.S. bank-issued debit card, or PayPal account. Prepaid cards may also work, but make sure they are issued by a bank. All parties involved must be at least 18 years of age, and they must both have a PayPal account.
