These payments are based on whether a Class Member lived in the state for 183 days or more after June 11, 2011. If you have qualified for a payment, you must have suffered from a qualifying illness or diagnosis. In order to qualify, you must file a claim for damages based on this diagnosis by July 15, 2022.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Class_members_must_have_lived_in_Illinois_for_at_least_183_days_or_six_months_after_June_11_2011\"><\/span>Class members must have lived in Illinois for at least 183 days (or six months) after June 11, 2011<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Those who lived in Illinois on or after June 11, 2011 can expect their payments to start arriving in the mail. They must have lived there for 183 days or six months after the date of the suit. The settlement amount of $650 million includes payments of $200 to $400. In order to qualify, class members must have been residents of Illinois for at least 183 days.<\/p>\n<p>Public Law 109-364, also known as the Veterans&#8217; Compensation Act, contains provisions concerning Veterans&#8217; benefits. The legislation adds the words &#8216;outside the United States&#8221; after the names of deceased members of the Armed Forces. In addition to that, Sec. 584 requires that certain veterans with World War I valor medals and other honors have at least one year of Illinois residency.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Class_members_must_submit_a_claim_by_July_15_2022\"><\/span>Class members must submit a claim by July 15, 2022<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>To be eligible for settlement payments, Class Members must submit a Claim Form. The Court ordered the deadline for Class Members to submit a Claim Form to be March 15, 2022. However, if a Class Member hasn&#8217;t filed a Claim Form by this date, he or she should do so as soon as possible. The Lead Counsel may ask the Court to accept late claims, but payments will only be made after all appeals have been resolved and the processing of claims has been completed.<\/p>\n<p>The Claim Form must be completed by a representative. The representative must sign on behalf of the persons they represent and state their authority, titles, and capacities. Representatives must provide their Social Security number, as it may be used to verify their claim. Failure to provide this information will delay the process and may result in a claim being rejected.
