Facebook has also included the stories feature in their Messenger app. It works much like Instagram and Snapchat stories. However, it is possible to screenshot a story before it disappears, and the social media giant will notify you of the screenshot when you do.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Instagram_notifies_users_of_screenshots_of_stories\"><\/span>Instagram notifies users of screenshots of stories<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Instagram has recently trialed a feature to notify users when their stories have been screenshotted. In the past, users had to manually click on the &#8220;Track&#8221; button in order to find out if someone had taken a screenshot of their story. In the year 2022, this feature will become available to everyone. The new feature will also help users see who screenshotted their stories. While it is not a mandatory feature, this will help prevent users from accidentally screenshotting someone else&#8217;s story.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike other apps that allow you to take a screenshot, Instagram does not notify you when you do it. If you&#8217;ve ever screenshotted someone else&#8217;s story, you&#8217;ll never know. Instagram does this on purpose and explains that it isn&#8217;t planning to bring it back any time soon. If you screenshot a story or message, you&#8217;ll receive no notification from the app.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Instagram_notifies_users_of_screenshots_of_messages\"><\/span>Instagram notifies users of screenshots of messages<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you&#8217;re using the Instagram app, you probably notice that your profile is now showing a notification whenever someone takes a screenshot of a message. This notification will be sent to the other person, and the other person will see that the screenshot is permanent. This notification can be useful if you&#8217;re sending screenshots of important content, such as ads. However, if you&#8217;re not the recipient of screenshots, you may not even see the notification.<\/p>\n<p>In order to turn off notifications, first of all, you should ensure that you&#8217;ve disabled the feature. You can turn off notifications on Instagram by opening the Settings menu. Next, select Notifications. If you&#8217;re using an iOS device, you can find the notification setting under the Notifications menu. From there, choose the &#8220;Notifications&#8221; tab and click Disable notifications. Users can choose to notify creators when someone takes a screenshot of their stories. They can also choose to hide their stories for other people. You can also opt to not receive notifications when screenshotting stories from people you&#8217;re following or direct messaged. You&#8217;ll still be notified if someone screenshots your story, though.<\/p>\n<p>The reason for this omission is a little mysterious. The app doesn&#8217;t notify users when they screenshot posts, stories, videos, or other disappearing content. Instead, the app simply sends them a permanent DM or a disappearing direct message. Neither of these methods is particularly efficient, so the best way to avoid this is to only screenshot posts that are in your feed and not repost them.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Instagram_doesnt_notify_users_of_screenshots_of_recordings_or_videos\"><\/span>Instagram doesn&#8217;t notify users of screenshots of recordings or videos<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Taking a screenshot of a recording or video on Instagram does not always result in a notification from the app. Instead, it displays a list of those who have viewed the content in question. This feature is only available on Stories and wasn&#8217;t introduced until 2018. During the time it was in existence, users who took screenshots received a star-shaped icon next to their handle.<\/p>\n<p>In 2018, Instagram started notifying users when they screen recorded their stories, but the feature only lasted a few months. After user feedback, the feature was removed from Instagram. It is not currently planned for reinstatement.
