There are three basic ways to do so: you can unfriend them, disable notifications for a post, or hide a specific post. But these methods do not work for content you have tagged someone with. In that case, you should consider custom privacy settings. Listed below are a few of these options.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Unfriending_a_friend\"><\/span>Unfriending a friend<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>When it comes to blocking someone on Facebook, there are a few ways to do it. The first method involves unfollowing them. If you don&#8217;t like their posts, unfollow them and they won&#8217;t see your updates. The second method involves adding them to your Restricted Read list. Be careful not to block someone if you want to keep a friendship. This can result in awkward situations, so be sure to choose the right option.<\/p>\n<p>To unfriend a friend on Facebook, go to the person&#8217;s profile and hover over the &#8216;Friends&#8217; button. Select &#8216;Unfriend&#8217;. If you&#8217;re not sure whether the person has opted out of receiving your updates, you can always unfollow them again by clicking on the &#8216;unfriend&#8217; button. If you&#8217;re worried that your friend might find your posts offensive, they won&#8217;t see them.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Turning_off_notifications_for_a_post\"><\/span>Turning off notifications for a post<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The first thing you have to do is publish the post you want to turn off notifications for. Then, click on the ellipsis icon on the right side of the post to see a list of options for admins. The top option should be Turn off notifications for this post. You can also select which groups or pages you don&#8217;t want to receive notifications from. Once you&#8217;ve done that, you can turn off notifications for specific posts.<\/p>\n<p>To turn off notifications for a specific post, click on the three dots in the upper right corner of the post. You can then choose whether or not to receive notifications for that post. This feature is available for both admins and page managers. Turning off notifications for a post on Facebook is possible with any version of the social media site. If you&#8217;re an admin, you&#8217;ll need to login to your account in order to make the change.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Hide_a_post_from_a_specific_person\"><\/span>Hide a post from a specific person<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>To hide a post from a particular person on Facebook, you must first choose the individual to whom you want to restrict access to your posts. The process is similar whether you are on your desktop computer or your mobile device. First, log into your Facebook account. Then, navigate to your account settings. Go to the &#8220;Privacy&#8221; section. Click on &#8220;Friends.&#8221; On the left side of the screen, click the drop-down arrow next to each of the people who you want to hide a post from. After choosing the corresponding option, click Save Changes.<\/p>\n<p>Once you have selected the person whose post you wish to hide, click on his or her profile picture. This is located in the upper-left corner of the page near the middle of the blue menu bar. Alternatively, you can also open his or her profile by clicking the top-left corner of the main drop-down menu. Click on the picture. This will bring you to his or her page.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Custom_privacy_options\"><\/span>Custom privacy options<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Custom privacy options on Facebook allow you to limit who can see your posts. You can choose who sees your posts by clicking the drop-down box underneath your name. From there, choose the audience you&#8217;d like to share your posts with. Then click Save Changes to save your settings. That&#8217;s it! Facebook will never see anything you share that doesn&#8217;t belong to anyone you select. There are several other ways to control privacy on Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>Custom privacy options on Facebook allow you to restrict who can see certain types of content. These settings are also known as &#8220;permissions.&#8221; Depending on your personal preferences, you can restrict the information your friends can see. The &#8220;friends of friends&#8221; category allows people who know your friends to see your posts. But if you don&#8217;t want them to see your posts, you can choose to keep them private by entering their names and other personal information.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Blocking_a_friends_posts\"><\/span>Blocking a friend&#8217;s posts<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You can block your friends from seeing your posts by selecting them and unsubscribing from them in Facebook&#8217;s settings. Once you have unsubscribed, all of their posts will disappear from your news feed. You can also unfollow a friend to follow them again. Then, you can follow them again by clicking on the &#8220;+ Follow&#8221; button next to their name. However, be aware that blocking someone permanently will cause your account to be hidden.<\/p>\n<p>In order to determine if your friend is actually blocked, you can look at the last post they published. If the post had been published publicly, it will be under a blank space on your profile. If you don&#8217;t see any posts from them recently, you may have blocked them and they have deleted their account.
