The steps to make it public include choosing an audience and avoiding sensitive information. After you have completed the steps above, you should be able to make your post public. To do this, you must be logged into your Facebook account. The first step in this process is to open the Facebook app on your phone. Next, tap on the Menu icon on the bottom of the screen. The menu will show your profile page.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Make_a_post_shareable_on_Facebook\"><\/span>Make a post shareable on Facebook<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You can make a new Facebook post shareable by changing its audience settings. To do this, open your profile and click on the three dots button. In the Audience settings, select &#8220;Public.&#8221; Then, tap the &#8216;Share&#8217; option to share the post with your friends and family. You can also change the visibility of the post by changing its audience settings to &#8220;anyone.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;d like to share your post with strangers, you can change the privacy settings of that post. The settings for making a post public vary by platform, but the process is the same on both. Facebook is available for both desktop computers and mobile devices. To make a post shareable on mobile, you need to find the post you want to share. If it is hidden, you may have to scroll down or search through your timeline to find it.<\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, you can make an older post shareable. To do this, go to your profile page and click on the three dots button on the right side. Under the user name, tap &#8220;Edit Post&#8221; and then &#8220;Public.&#8221; Finally, tap the &#8216;Done&#8217; button to save your changes. Now, the post will be shareable with others. When you&#8217;re ready to share it with your friends, click the share button next to it.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Selecting_an_audience\"><\/span>Selecting an audience<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>When you choose to publish a post as public on Facebook, you can select an audience from your list of friends. This audience will remain until you change it. Most people will choose to share the post with their friends. However, you can make it public or private by changing the audience later. You will see a list of options to select.<\/p>\n<p>After you choose the audience, you can then select the group of people you want to share your posts with. Facebook allows you to choose between Friends, Family, Specific Friends, or Friends and Acquaintances. Using this list will limit who sees your posts. This feature is helpful if you only want your posts to be seen by your friends. If you&#8217;re not comfortable sharing a post with a larger group, select &#8220;Friends&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The audience selector on Facebook will change the default audience setting on future posts. You should check this setting before publishing any content to ensure that you have selected the right audience. Another way to select an audience for public posts is to use tags. You can tag friends and associates in status updates and photos. When people click a tag, they will be taken to that friend&#8217;s Timeline. If the post is shared to a page or group, it will appear in all of the users&#8217; News Feeds and Timelines.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Avoiding_posting_sensitive_information\"><\/span>Avoiding posting sensitive information<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you want to stay safe online, avoid posting sensitive information in public posts on social networks like Facebook. People who want to steal your identity can find out all sorts of personal details on your Facebook profile, including your birthplace. Even photos of your personal documents can be stolen. Take fun quizzes where you can answer personal questions. If you share this information publicly, it can be viewed by anyone who sees it.<\/p>\n<p>When making public posts on Facebook, use appropriate privacy settings. Most Facebook privacy settings aren&#8217;t that complicated, but they are still a great place to protect your privacy. You can choose to share information with just your friends or everyone with whom you choose to share it. Facebook has a way of sharing private posts with law enforcement, so it&#8217;s important not to share confidential information with strangers online.
