Often, these videos are already viral and spread on other social media platforms. However, this account isn&#8217;t the only one responsible for spreading these ideas. Libs of TikTok has become a major voice on social media in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>The creator of Libs of TikTok, Chaya Raichik, has expressed his admiration for Raichik&#8217;s work and has plans to monetize her content. While Raichik claims she doesn&#8217;t do this for money, it seems that some conservative satire accounts have teamed up with Raichik to create a brand around her content. Libs of TikTok have launched a merchandising campaign on Shopify, where users can buy T-shirts, mugs, and other merchandise featuring the Libs of TikTok logo.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Chaya_Raichik\"><\/span>Chaya Raichik<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Known for her conservative and liberal views, the controversial YouTube channel Libs of TikTok (@libsoftiktok) reposts content created by LGBT, left-leaning, and liberal creators across various social media platforms. The hashtag #libsoftiktok has received a lot of attention lately, but few people know who she is. Here&#8217;s a look at what she does:<\/p>\n<p>Libs of TikTok was started by Chaya Raichik, a real estate agent from Brooklyn. Initially, the account reposted left-leaning and LGBT-themed videos, but it soon gained popularity among conservatives. When Travis Brown exposed the identity of the account creator in April 2022, Raichik claimed that he was an &#8220;anonymous&#8221; real estate agent. Raichik maintains her anonymity and is unidentified.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"882000_followers\"><\/span>882,000 followers<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The Libs of TikTok account has a burgeoning following, with 882,000 followers on Twitter alone. The account has been anonymous for a while, but we can now trace the owner&#8217;s history through the web. Originally, Chaya Raichik was a real estate salesperson in Brooklyn, but since then, her online activities have attracted far-right trolls.<\/p>\n<p>The account, created by Raichik, began growing quickly in August 2018. It was fueled by angry reaction to radical political ideology spoon-fed to American children. The resulting videos struck millions of people during a pivotal election year. The videos were widely shared, and even got Raichik a mention on Joe Rogan&#8217;s podcast. The episode aired several times in August and late September. Rogan called the account one of the &#8220;greatest f-ing accounts of all time&#8221; and the following skyrocketed.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Racism-baiting\"><\/span>Racism-baiting<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>One social media account that has gained a following from conservatives is Libs of TikTok. With more than 5.7 million subscribers, the account has received significant attention on the Fox News, among others. Raichik has exploited every front of the conservative culture wars. He exploits the popular conservative talking point that American cities are hellscapes. The most notorious example of this is his series of videos showing homeless people dancing together.<\/p>\n<p>The operator of the account claimed to be anonymous, claiming that she was worried about being outed in front of a global audience. Yet, it appears she had no problem doing podcast interviews. She spoke with Tucker Carlson, giving canned responses in a puff piece-like segment. The anonymity of social media accounts makes it easy to distribute homophobe-baiting content and avoid real-world consequences. Lorenz, on the other hand, is seemingly unfazed by the backlash to her article.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Homophobia\"><\/span>Homophobia<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>&#8220;Libs of TikTok&#8221; are the videos posted on social media that have caused a stir in recent months, but there&#8217;s a new wrinkle in this story: the anti-LGBTQ+ content has been amplified on mainstream media. One example of this is Fox News, which created news packages around the content. Homophobic tweets are frequently posted on the platform, and the content has been amplified and spread through mainstream media, particularly Fox News.<\/p>\n<p>The Washington Post recently ran a piece on the anti-LGBTQ Twitter account &#8220;Libs of TikTok.&#8221; This popular platform has become a key agenda-setter in right-wing online discourse. The content Libs of TikTok promotes is directly linked to the recent push against the LGBTQ+ community, including threatening teachers who are LGBTQ affirming. But what does this mean for the LGBTQ+ community?<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Virality\"><\/span>Virality<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Libs of TikTok is a social media account that began on TikTok and has since moved to Twitter. They post content that is liberal in nature and invite ridicule from right-wing conservatives. Libs of TikTok has nearly 700,000 followers on Twitter and is a female account. A recent Twitter account revealed that the account&#8217;s curator had previously used various Twitter handles.<\/p>\n<p>The platform has been criticized by a number of conservatives who claim that users of the social media platform cherry-pick LGBT-oriented content in order to promote right-wing conspiracy theories. This controversy has caused many conservative social media users to attack Texas Angels Boutique owner Evan Berryhill-Jewell in a drunken rant. Austin police are investigating the allegations.
