However, if you&#8217;re using a public browser, you can&#8217;t follow every single person on Twitter.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Retweets_stay_bigger\"><\/span>Retweets stay bigger<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Retweets are a good way to boost your profile on Twitter. They can build your reputation by sharing useful and relevant information. Sharing retweets of other people&#8217;s tweets can boost your personal brand, and your followers&#8217; loyalty. Retweets also give you exposure on Twitter, and help spread brand awareness. Here are some tips to increase your retweet count on Twitter:<\/p>\n<p>First, make sure to retweet only the content you love the most. Twitter&#8217;s retweet icon now has an &#8220;add a comment&#8221; option. This will discourage blind retweeting and encourage people to add their own voice. Manual retweets used to condense the original tweet into 140 characters, whereas now, users can post comments that are up to 116 characters long.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Hashtags_are_a_keyword_in_a_tweet\"><\/span>Hashtags are a keyword in a tweet<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In social media, the word &#8220;hashtag&#8221; refers to a phrase or keyword, followed by a pound sign (#). Hashtags are useful because they help organize public conversations from different users into one stream. Searching for a hashtag on Twitter and clicking on a post containing that word or phrase will bring up the relevant posts with that keyword or phrase. Using a hashtag can also help you find a Twitter giveaway, since many of these contests have short entry periods.<\/p>\n<p>Hashtags can be used in a tweet for any purpose. For example, a tweet about a soccer match will include the hashtag associated with that team. These hashtags help Twitter users find relevant content related to the game. In addition, hashtags can increase the visibility of a tweet by increasing its chances of being retweeted. Some examples of tweets that make use of hashtags include the #Election, the hashtag for the World Cup, and the name of a game.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Images_are_still_transcoded_to_85_JFIF_quality_JPEGs\"><\/span>Images are still transcoded to 85% JFIF quality JPEGs<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The Twitter web interface has changed. Instead of transcoding all JPEGs to 85% JFIF, images will now be uploaded with their native JPEG encoding. Previously, all images were transcoded to 85% JFIF, which diluted the quality of higher quality JPEGs. Twitter will still allow images in the original format, including PNG-8.<\/p>\n<p>The reason is that JPEG images uploaded prior to Dec. 10 are transcoded to lower quality JPEGs for web viewing. However, if a JPEG image has an aspect ratio of 1 pixel per byte, it is preserved. This feature is available for images over 5MB and 4096 pixels. If these are too large, the Twitter web interface will automatically convert them to 85% JFIF quality JPEGs.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Messages_are_sent_in_private\"><\/span>Messages are sent in private<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You can send and receive messages on Twitter. To do so, simply go to your profile and tap on the envelope icon. This icon only appears if the person&#8217;s profile allows direct messages. Next, you can search for the person you want to send a message to and tap the &#8220;To&#8221; or &#8220;Group&#8221; fields at the top of the screen. After you find the person you want to send a message to, tap the envelope icon to open your inbox. In your inbox, you&#8217;ll see any direct messages and can reply in the same way.<\/p>\n<p>Direct Messages (DMs) are messages that are sent privately between two Twitter users. While they&#8217;re private to the sender, they show up in the recipient&#8217;s feed but are not publicly visible to other users. However, this doesn&#8217;t mean that everyone can view them, as apps with account access to your Twitter account can read and send messages. When you authorize an app to read or write your messages, you&#8217;ll find a check mark next to the message timestamp. This feature can be turned off if you don&#8217;t want to be bothered by that.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Retweets_are_a_way_to_share_content_with_groups_of_people\"><\/span>Retweets are a way to share content with groups of people<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Retweets are a great way to increase your online influence and drive traffic to your site. There are over 550 million active Twitter users, and around 135,000 new users join every day. If you want to maximize the reach of your tweets, here are some tips for improving retweets. Firstly, be sure to post at the right time and frequency. The best times to post are Monday through Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>To retweet a post, simply click on the&#8217;retweet&#8217; icon. You can then comment on the original post, as well as include the poster&#8217;s Twitter handle and RT abbreviation. Remember that retweeted content does not count towards the 140-character limit.
