Its creators, Vanessa Clark and Arriani Jaileen Arroyo, have defended their actions, saying the challenge is a harmless way to get people to laugh and be funny.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Vanessa_Clark\"><\/span>Vanessa Clark<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Vanessa Clark, a 17-year-old student from Worcester, Massachusetts, started the TikTok glitching challenge after she saw a video of a friend&#8217;s dancing to the song &#8220;Kurxxed Emeraldz &#8211; Luci4&#8221;. This dance has since become a viral sensation with millions of followers. Though Clark has never received formal dance training, she&#8217;s clearly possessed of a unique talent, as her video featured a glitched-out robot.<\/p>\n<p>While Vanessa is best known for her videos, she has many other talents as well. Her TikTok videos have a variety of subjects and styles. One of her most popular videos is about missing people and she has shared several missing persons cases. In addition to sharing her own videos, Vanessa has also made educational content about homeless people and low-income families during a pandemic. Among other things, she is also a big advocate for women&#8217;s rights and equality.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Arriani_Jaileen_Arroyo\"><\/span>Arriani Jaileen Arroyo<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The wrongful death lawsuits against TikTok came after a young girl who was killed by another teenager tried to imitate a blackout challenge video on the app. Arriani Jaileen Arroyo, a resident of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, had started using TikTok when she was seven years old. She began posting videos of herself dancing and eventually became addicted to the platform.<\/p>\n<p>The death of Arriani Jaileen was shocking to her family, who had not suspected her involvement in a potentially life-threatening video. In January 2021, her younger brother discovered her unconscious body in the family basement, where her captors had left her leash. She was rushed to the hospital and pronounced brain dead. Police discovered videos of the Blackout Challenge on Arriani&#8217;s phone, and she was put on life support.<\/p>\n<p>Although the TikTok challenge has been around for several years, the victims&#8217; families and legal advocates continue to fight for justice. The Social Media Victims Law Center claims that TikTok, which allows the public to share videos of death, is responsible for the deaths of two young girls. They claim that TikTok fed the young girls with videos related to the &#8216;blackout challenge,&#8217; which was a dangerous trend. The craze has become so popular that it has affected millions of people worldwide.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Mya_Nicole\"><\/span>Mya Nicole<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Mya Nicole Johnson, a member of the collective Titokis, has arguably done more for the rise of the internet than anyone else. She is the first to take the &#8220;Up&#8221; dance to the Internet, a dance that gained viral fame after Addison Rae&#8217;s performance. The challenge became so popular that it has now spread worldwide. There are countless people vying to become the first to be featured on the platform, including Mya Nicole.<\/p>\n<p>Mya and Christ have been linked since 2021, when Mya posted a video featuring an original dance routine to a Cardin B song. The two choreographed the dance together, and after spending 15 minutes choreographing the moves, it became a sensation on social media. Her dance was so successful that many other TikTokers began to mimic her moves. It has become one of the most popular online dance videos ever, with over a billion views!<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Chris_Cotter\"><\/span>Chris Cotter<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The TikTok dance challenge has become hugely popular in recent months, thanks in part to Cardi B. The singer posted a dance routine to her new song &#8220;Up&#8221; on her social media platforms. Her performance, which was originally choreographed by 13-year-old Chris Cotter, has racked up over eight million views on the platform. It was so popular that other celebrities and influencers jumped on the trend, too. After the dance challenge exploded in popularity, Mya Johnson re-posted the original video on her own social media accounts.<\/p>\n<p>When she saw the first video of a choreographed TikTok dance, Johnson was enthralled. She thought the TikTok challenge was a bit silly, but later realized that she and Cotter could have performed the dance on Rae&#8217;s show! The two creators spoke with Popsugar about their experiences with the TikTok challenge.
