The organization helps women develop resilience by providing mentors and resources that help them cope with the grief and loss that comes with losing a loved one. While the MWC group focuses on social issues, it can be beneficial for all women, regardless of age or sexual orientation. Here are some ways to get involved with MWC.<\/p>\n<p>The Modern Widows Club was started by Carolyn Moor, a widow who lost her husband in a car accident. After appearing on Oprah, she decided to create a support group for widows. The name, &#8220;Modern Widows Club,&#8221; refers to the fact that widowhood can strike at any age. The group offers an online community that is geared toward women of all ages, and is a good place to find friends who are experiencing the same loss.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Hope_Again\"><\/span>Hope Again<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you&#8217;re looking for a place to talk to widows and widowers on Facebook, you&#8217;ve come to the right place. The group, started on Nov. 7 by Addison, has grown to over 80 members from across the United States and the United Kingdom. Members are encouraged to join a Zoom meetup, as well as plan in-person gatherings once the vaccine is available.<\/p>\n<p>The group&#8217;s name comes from a woman who became a widow at the age of 36, due to the disease. She lost her husband Martin, 44, to COVID-19 while conducting swallow evaluations on speech pathology patients. She was devastated and started the Facebook group to offer support and encouragement to other young widows and widowers affected by the virus. She is now launching an online support group for young widows, which has grown to over 80 members in just two months.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Unapologetic_Stepmom\"><\/span>Unapologetic Stepmom<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you&#8217;re a widow, you might be looking for support, advice, and other tips for being a successful stepmom. The Unapologetic Stepmom group is a great place to do this. While the group is not exclusively for widows, it offers a valuable resource for stepmoms of all backgrounds. It offers advice and support from women just like you who are facing the same challenges.<\/p>\n<p>The Facebook group is not exclusive to widows; it&#8217;s also open to divorced and single women who are looking for friendship. It&#8217;s a great place to share your stories and get support, while also finding encouragement to start a new life. Some groups ask for personal information or background to ensure members are real.
