This feature lets you pause\/play and continue watching the video while in another tab or app. In this mode, you can also resume a video you are currently watching. To disable the feature, visit the YouTube website and follow the directions provided. However, you must note that YouTube is not allowed to collect any data on children under the age of 13.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"YouTubes_desktop_Picture-in-Picture_mode_allows_you_to_enjoy_videos_while_browsing_other_tabs_or_apps\"><\/span>YouTube&#8217;s desktop &#8220;Picture-in-Picture&#8221; mode allows you to enjoy videos while browsing other tabs or apps<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>To view YouTube videos while you are working in another tab or app, use the Picture-in-Picture feature. You can choose to view a video in a floating window and work in other tabs or applications while it is playing. It&#8217;s also possible to resize this floating window to fit your screen.<\/p>\n<p>To enable this feature, open the YouTube app and select the &#8220;Picture-in-Pictures&#8221; tab. Click &#8220;Picture-in-Picture&#8221; on the top-right corner of the tab. The video will then play in the background, which you can resize and adjust if necessary. Alternatively, you can choose &#8220;Full Screen&#8221; and click on &#8220;Picture in Picture&#8221; to view YouTube on full screen.<\/p>\n<p>The desktop &#8220;Picture-in-Piece&#8221; mode lets you watch YouTube videos while you&#8217;re working in other tabs or apps. The video will shrink into a tiny player that you can move around on the home screen. To enable it, you should first close the YouTube app so that you can move the window to the desired part of your screen. You can also drag the window to various parts of the screen.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"You_can_pauseplay_and_move_to_another_tab\"><\/span>You can pause\/play and move to another tab<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you&#8217;re a frequent user of YouTube and have trouble navigating its menu, there is an easy solution: use the YouTube Tab Pause extension. This extension allows you to pause and play a YouTube video from any tab. The extension also allows you to rewind the video by 15 seconds. Once installed, you can use it as a universal YouTube pause and play tool. Just like any other extension, it works silently in the background.<\/p>\n<p>YouTube Smart Pause is an extension for Firefox. When you switch tabs, the extension automatically pauses the video and audio so you don&#8217;t have to click play. This extension also enables you to move to another tab while watching a video. However, it doesn&#8217;t work for videos that are embedded in other websites. It&#8217;s not the most ideal solution, but it&#8217;s a good option if you&#8217;re constantly watching a video on YouTube.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"You_can_resume_a_video\"><\/span>You can resume a video<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>PiP (or portable interactive player) is a useful feature of YouTube on mobile. This window enables you to pause, resume, skip ahead, and rewind a video without having to exit the video. The miniplayer can also be dismissed by pressing the &#8220;X&#8221; at the top right or hitting the ESC key on your keyboard. To resume a video, you must have the same account as the one used for the original video. However, this feature is currently only available for premium subscribers. Premium background playback will be available to all mobile users by November.<\/p>\n<p>To enable the YouTube mini player, first open the video in question. If the video has already started, you&#8217;ll see a message that says &#8220;continue watching&#8221; in the bottom right corner of the screen. Clicking this message will queue the video for the next second. When you&#8217;re done watching, click anywhere in the mini player to expand it. The video will resume in the full page, and you can continue playing.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"You_can_resume_a_video_while_in_picture-in-picture_mode\"><\/span>You can resume a video while in picture-in-picture mode<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The feature, which lets you play a video in a floating window while using other applications, is slowly rolling out to more users. If you&#8217;re on iOS 15 or higher, you should be able to see it on your device soon. If you&#8217;ve been unable to see it yet, read on to learn how to resume a video while in picture-in-picture mode on YouTube.<\/p>\n<p>First, you must have the YouTube premium subscription to enjoy this feature. If you have a free account, you&#8217;ll be able to use the feature, but you won&#8217;t be able to resume playback. YouTube has made it possible with its Picture-in-Picture mode, but it&#8217;s not available to everyone yet.
