You can change the background color, icon, and story to create a custom look for each one. If you want to create your own highlight cover, swipe left on your home feed to open the edit menu. Then, pinch the screen to zoom out the icon, which prevents it from cropping your story circularly. You can also use a custom icon and story to tell your story in a completely different way than the default one.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Canva\"><\/span>Canva<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you are having trouble coming up with an image for your Instagram story, try using one of the many free icons available at Canva. Not only does Canva allow you to use icons on your Instagram story, but its design tools make it a breeze to create a cover for it as well. You can also edit your profile highlight using the More menu in the lower right corner of the screen. Once you&#8217;ve added your cover photo to your profile, you can change the highlight icons to match your new theme.<\/p>\n<p>To use the app, you&#8217;ll need to sign up for a free Canva account. Once you&#8217;ve done that, head over to the Create a design tab and select Instagram Story Highlight Cover. Note that the size is automatically set to 1080 x 1920 pixels, but you can change the size by selecting Custom Size from the menu. Once you&#8217;ve chosen the design, you&#8217;ll need to choose a suitable image to use as a background.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Color_gradients\"><\/span>Color gradients<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Colour gradients are a great way to add style to stickers, text and pictures on Instagram stories. Simply open the story creator by swiping to the right. Tap the plus (+) icon. On the bottom left of the screen, you can also select a colour and add it to your story. Alternatively, you can edit the gradient and change the colour as you see fit. It is important to keep in mind that some colours may look better on some devices than others.<\/p>\n<p>You can change the color gradient on the icon in many ways. For example, you can choose to make the hashtags invisible or copy the color from another element on the image. In some cases, you can use a cover image for your highlights instead of a Story. However, if you don&#8217;t want to use an image as your cover, you can choose a color gradient on the icon itself. Once you&#8217;ve made the changes, you can also change the cover image of your highlights.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Leaf-inspired_design\"><\/span>Leaf-inspired design<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you&#8217;re struggling to create Instagram highlights for your stories, you&#8217;ve come to the right place. Leaf-inspired illustrations make for an elegant look. Available in PNG, EPS, and vector AI formats, they&#8217;ll be an excellent choice for Instagram story highlights. The best part is that these icons are completely customizable. You can choose to use the original designs or change the colors. With just a little creativity, you can create your own highlight icons.<\/p>\n<p>Floral Instagram story highlight icons are another great choice. This style uses different flower-based icons, each one featuring a different color palette. It&#8217;s also perfect for summer marketing campaigns, tropical Instagram stories, and Christmas-themed stories. It&#8217;s also available in sixteen hand-painted styles. To create your own, use the following templates:<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Directing_followers_to_your_most_valuable_content\"><\/span>Directing followers to your most valuable content<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You can use Instagram stories to promote other social channels. In addition to the Stories feature, you can use Highlights to direct followers to another social property. Highlights are a great way to preserve hard-produced story content and give it a longer shelf-life. Highlights allow you to promote future content in your stories and can also increase your social media following. Using Highlights will give you a competitive advantage in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>To create your Highlight Story, first select the title. Instagram lets you use 15 characters to name your story. You can also use emojis. Make sure to center the text and make it clear what the Highlight Story is all about. Then, choose the most valuable content to display at the top. You can include data on the cover to explain its contents.
