On a visual site like Instagram, this is even more appealing, where your feed can be almost distractingly busy with gorgeous photos and videos that you know can really add to your marketing strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The trick?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unlike Retweets and Shares on Facebook, reposting content from another Instagram account is not as simple as clicking a button. The process is a bit more involved, with some things that the platform lets you do easily, like sharing feed posts to your stories, and others that require a workaround, like a screenshot and getting explicit permission from the original creator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this post, we look at all the different ways you can repost on Instagram, including native sharing options for feed posts, Stories, Reels and IGTV videos, and a few more complicated ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-the-easy-resharing-options-on-instagram\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_easy_resharing_options_on_Instagram\"><\/span>The easy resharing options on Instagram<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-1-feed-posts-to-stories\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"1_Feed_Posts_To_Stories\"><\/span>1. Feed Posts To Stories<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The easiest way to repost content on Instagram is to share feed posts to your Stories. This can be your own feed posts or content from someone else, and you just need to tap on the paper airplane icon and choose <strong>Add Post to Your Story<\/strong> from the pop-up menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a great way to highlight a post from your own feed, especially if you tend to get more views on your Stories than your feed posts. You can also use it to resurface an older piece of content. Sharing Feed Posts, Stories, Reels and IGTV Videos To Direct Messages<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This can be a single DM or a group DM. To share any Instagram content to a DM, tap on the paper airplane icon and choose the people or group you want to share it to. The post or story will land in their message box, and at this point, you can customize your message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-3-sharing-stories\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_Sharing_Stories\"><\/span>3. Sharing Stories<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As for Stories, you can only reshare stories to your own story if you were tagged in the original content. When that happens, you get a notification in your DM, and from there, you can choose to <strong>Add to Your Story<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By extension, if someone shares a sequence of stories but you\u2019re only tagged in a few of them, you\u2019ll only be able to share the ones you are tagged in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-4-sharing-igtv-videos-to-stories-and-feed-posts\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_Sharing_IGTV_videos_to_Stories_and_feed_posts\"><\/span>4. Sharing IGTV videos to Stories and feed posts<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When you upload an IGTV video, you have the option to add previews to your story and feed. On your feed, this feature creates a 15-second video, and once the 15 seconds are over, viewers are prompted to go to IGTV and <strong>Keep Watching<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" src=\"https:\/\/zeru.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Video-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3394\" srcset=\"https:\/\/zeru.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Video-1.jpg 640w, https:\/\/zeru.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Video-1-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Similarly, if you share an IGTV video to your story, a preview of the video and a link is shared for viewers to have easy access to the video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-5-sharing-reels\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5_Sharing_Reels\"><\/span>5. Sharing Reels<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>And finally, Instagram Reels can be shared to Stories and Instagram Direct, and you can share both your own reels and someone else\u2019s. Just open the reel to full view and tap on the paper airplane icon to choose from the options of the pull-down menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And that\u2019s it&#8230; These are the ways you can natively repost content on Instagram. You can&#8217;t:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Share a feed post from someone else to your own feed<\/li><li>You can\u2019t share someone else\u2019s story to your own feed<\/li><li>And you can\u2019t share someone else&#8217;s reels to your own feed<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>To repost these types of content, you\u2019ll need a third-party regramming app like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.redcactus.repost\">Repost for Instagram<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This one is an app that makes it easy to repost photos and videos on Instagram while giving credit to the original creator. All you have to do is copy the share URL of the post and open Repost to do things like adjust the attribution mark before sending the media back to Instagram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.instarepostapp.com\/\">InstaRepost<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With InstaRepost, you can repost photos and videos, but also clear watermarks. The app works a little differently than Repost for Instagram whereby you need to open the app and log in using your Instagram credentials to authorize access to your photos and all the content associated with your Instagram account. You then use the Explore tab to find the content you want to repost. On-screen instructions will lead you to save the photo or video to your camera roll before you can repost it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. <a href=\"https:\/\/downloadgram.com\/\">DownloadGram<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And finally, DownloadGram is just what it sounds like&#8230;a downloader of Instagram photos, videos, IGTV and reels that you can then find in your camera roll, edit and share to your Instagram profile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alternatively, you can also grab a screenshot of the content you want to share and crop it to the size of the image before reposting; Just make sure you credit the original creator, and you get explicit permission from them to reshare the content<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the context of Instagram, explicit permission is a written permission, which you can get from commenting on the post you&#8217;d like to share or via direct message. If you don\u2019t get that written permission, you open yourself to a world of legal headache.
