Not only does it help artists gain exposure for their songs, but it also helps to build their careers, especially for emerging artists. Because it has such an engaged audience, TikTok has become a place where new and unknown artists can promote their work. Many songs on the platform have gained popularity organically and through influencer-driven marketing campaigns.<\/p>\n<p>The popularity of TikTok has caused the company to launch its own music marketing platform, SoundOn. However, Michigan State University senior Kelsi Karpinski, one of the 1 billion people worldwide who download the app every month, spends about a minute more each day. She enjoys the short videos, saying longer videos tend to make her bored.
