If you&#8217;re considering Twitter as a way to promote your business, here are some tips to make it work for you:<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Limitation_on_number_of_accounts_a_user_can_follow\"><\/span>Limitation on number of accounts a user can follow<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>A Twitter user can only follow so many accounts per day, and the following limit is different for each account. This limit is based on both your follower count and number of accounts you follow. It only lasts 24 hours, so be careful not to exceed this limit. Twitter also penalizes accounts with excessive follow counts, as these are considered spam. To get around this, you can follow more accounts than the limit allows you, but that means you&#8217;ll be penalized.<\/p>\n<p>The number of Twitter accounts you can follow is limited to 1,000. If you reach this limit, you can ask people to send messages to your email account. You can also only send 150 API requests in an hour, and this limit applies if you refresh the page or perform a function on Twitter. However, if you are being abusive and copying content of other users, Twitter may restrict your account.<\/p>\n<p>The daily limit was set by Twitter in response to &#8220;follow churn,&#8221; a practice where an account repeatedly follows and unfollows large numbers of accounts. However, it didn&#8217;t affect the majority of Twitter users. Twitter also implemented a thread to discuss this change in order to stop spammers from abusing the system. It was not immediately clear what exactly the limit was, but it seems to be a smart move on Twitter&#8217;s part.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Time_commitment\"><\/span>Time commitment<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>A blog post takes time. It can take anywhere from 20 minutes to several hours to complete. Often, I spend as much as 90 minutes to get a post out, so it can be a time sink. A quick glance at Twitter can give the impression that it requires far less time per post than a blog post. However, that perception may not be fully justified. You can still post multiple times per day without any trouble, but the time commitment can be considerable.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Negative_feedback\"><\/span>Negative feedback<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You can&#8217;t always avoid receiving negative feedback from your customers. However, this doesn&#8217;t have to be a bad thing. Rather than ignoring negative feedback, respond quickly and politely to the person who posted it. Put yourself in their shoes and use the feedback to inform your decisions going forward. Here are some tips to deal with negative feedback:<\/p>\n<p>Reacting quickly to negative tweets shows your customers that you care about their opinions. Even a small increase in customer retention can make a big impact on your bottom line: a 2% increase in customer retention will save you as much as ten percent in costs. Moreover, 69% of people will have a more favorable impression of your business when you respond quickly to their complaints. As a result, you will be able to increase customer satisfaction, loyalty, and bottom line.<\/p>\n<p>Dealing with negative comments on Twitter is an important part of managing the brand on social media. Managing negative feedback on Twitter requires quick analysis, but remember that it is also an opportunity to highlight the positive aspects of your business.
