The account began tweeting in late February with pictures of Mayor Jim Ardis and links to his personal email address. The account was uncovered mid-March, and the police were unable to convince Ardis that the account was a hoax.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Legal_risks_of_making_a_fake_Twitter_account\"><\/span>Legal risks of making a fake Twitter account<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>There are many risks associated with making a fake Twitter account. In fact, the TOS Agreement cites these documents five times. Violations of these policies may result in suspension and account termination. Because Twitter has users from various countries and cultures, it is important to understand the language of the terms and conditions before using Twitter for your business purposes. You also need to know your audience well.<\/p>\n<p>A recent lawsuit against Twitter found that the company had misled users about the security of their contact information. The company failed to mention the fact that the information they collected was sold to third parties and used for marketing purposes. This violation also violated a 2011 settlement with the US government. Twitter is required to disclose how its users&#8217; contact information is used. This fine amounts to $150 million. To do so, you have to be a member of Twitter. Click the &#8220;overflow&#8221; icon on the tweet that you want to report. Once you&#8217;ve done this, explain why the content is offensive to you.
