If so, you&#8217;re not alone. Twitter&#8217;s API offers developers many different ways to build apps and integrate with their content. However, it&#8217;s important to know what each level of service offers. If you&#8217;re not sure what a basic account is, read our article to learn more about how to make an application with the Twitter API.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Basic\"><\/span>Basic<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You can use Twitter&#8217;s API to get access to the Tweets that are posted to the website. This method allows you to search for and read the tweets that are posted on Twitter. This is a valuable source of data because of the way that people react to certain topics, as well as the fact that they can be used to influence policy. Despite its popularity, the Twitter API does have some limitations, however. Its v1.1 version was limited to 3,200 tweets, the last seven days of tweets, and limited meta data. But the Twitter API v2 expanded the query options and gave developers access to the entire database of tweets and objects posted on Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>Once you&#8217;ve gotten access to the Twitter API, you can use it to update your status, send media, or pull a list of the latest Tweets. This technique can be done without programming skills, and you don&#8217;t need any technical knowledge to use it. The Basic Twitter API comes with four methods: retrieve, create, update, and delete. Each of these methods has its own set of parameters that you must follow. These steps should be followed with caution.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Standard\"><\/span>Standard<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Until Twitter clarifies pricing for its Standard Twitter API, it is unclear exactly how much it will cost to access tweet data. Twitter announced a new premium API access program late last year, with general prices ranging from $149 per month to $2,499 per month. However, there is a catch: if you need more data than you can get through the Standard API, you will have to pay for the premium version. In the meantime, Twitter will offer a range of free and paid tiers, based on the amount of access you need. A price increase may limit the number of third-party tools you can use, and could even kill small companies.<\/p>\n<p>Pricing for the Standard Twitter API is still under development, but it&#8217;s getting closer to completion. The new onboarding wizard has reduced the number of fields to one. And new search tools make it easier to find documentation and support. Additionally, Twitter has a centralized support page so developers can easily get help. While Twitter isn&#8217;t willing to provide the pricing for each tier yet, you can get a free API key by signing up for a free plan.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Premium\"><\/span>Premium<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Premium Twitter API enables you to get more information about a specific user by specifying a query parameter. This parameter lets you search for Twitter users by user ID or screen name. For example, if you&#8217;re interested in the latest tweet from a specific user, you can query for it using the \/users\/filter parameter. You can also specify the latest timestamp for each Tweet. When using this parameter, you&#8217;ll only receive the latest thirty days&#8217; worth of data, but you can also specify a date range ranging from a specific minute to a year.<\/p>\n<p>When comparing Tweet Search Full Archive with Tweet Search Standard API, you should first compare the two search options. Premium Search API returns tweets, while Standard Twitter API provides counts. The results of the search are almost identical to those of TWINT, but the Premium Search API returns more detailed data. For example, if you search for #smashtag, it returns all tweets containing that hashtag. Similarly, if you search for #emoji, the search result will include tweets with that specific hashtag.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Enterprise\"><\/span>Enterprise<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you&#8217;re looking to connect Twitter to your applications, you should know that there are three different platforms you can use to connect with its API. These are the Standard, Premium, and Enterprise. The standard platform is free for developers, while the self-serve and enterprise platforms are paid. The paid platform is a step down from the standard one, but is still a valuable choice for many developers. Here are some advantages and disadvantages of both.<\/p>\n<p>First, it will be free to connect to Twitter&#8217;s API. The Business API will serve enterprise customers and Twitter&#8217;s Official Partners, while the Academic\/Research API will serve qualified researchers and institutions interested in learning about public conversation on Twitter. The Academic\/Research API will later add Elevated and Custom access to relevant endpoints. This is the first time Twitter is addressing researchers&#8217; needs. The new APIs will be available to all Twitter users in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Birdie_for_Twitter\"><\/span>Birdie for Twitter<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Although Birdie for Twitter API is free, it requires you to have an Android phone and an active Twitter account to use it. You can use Birdie indefinitely, and you can also revoke authorization whenever you like. Another advantage of Birdie is that you can kill two birds with one stone &#8211; it retweets Bernie Sanders&#8217;s tweets and distributes them to your followers.<\/p>\n<p>The paid version of Birdie lets you customize the feed with news sources. You can skim through headlines or read detailed articles. The news section lets you see what&#8217;s trending with those you follow. Birdie also highlights the latest news articles and allows you to read them without distraction. With its customizable homepage and news feed, you can access a variety of sources with a single tap.
