If you&#8217;re still wondering why you can&#8217;t see fleets on Twitter, we&#8217;ve compiled a few possible reasons.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Spaces\"><\/span>Spaces<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you are hosting a speaking panel at an event, you may wonder why you don&#8217;t have a Twitter Space. The reason is simple: Twitter Spaces allow users to host and listen to audio chatrooms. They will only be visible to the participants during the conversation, and will not appear publicly afterward. Twitter will retain copies of these conversations for 30 days. Speakers or hosts can also download the transcriptions.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, Twitter&#8217;s algorithm is not very good at finding discussions on Spaces. Since conversations are live, the algorithm doesn&#8217;t recognize them as being particularly valuable or interesting. In addition, there&#8217;s no way to moderate or categorize discussions. While you can search for specific topics, you can&#8217;t view discussions in your timeline until you&#8217;ve finished them. That&#8217;s a big downside of Spaces, but there are some solutions to this problem.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Instagram_Stories\"><\/span>Instagram Stories<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Fleets are disappearing from Twitter, but don&#8217;t worry. Fleets are still a valuable tool for promoting deals and giveaways. These fleets contain codes that are unique to each user and can only be seen within that fleet. However, Twitter only allows you to create a Fleet once, and there&#8217;s a limit of 24 hours to which it will last. Unless you&#8217;re an industry giant, fleets can&#8217;t last forever.<\/p>\n<p>If you can&#8217;t see fleets on Twitter, try turning off Wi-Fi or Mobile Data on your device, and then tap Fleet. If that doesn&#8217;t work, try uninstalling and re-installing the Twitter app. Afterwards, you can view the Fleet next to the one you&#8217;re looking for. However, keep in mind that these workarounds may stop working when the Twitter app gets updated.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Instagrams_version_of_Twitters_Fleets\"><\/span>Instagram&#8217;s version of Twitter&#8217;s Fleets<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Snapchat&#8217;s disappearing stories feature was the first of its kind, and Instagram rolled out the feature in 2016. Following in its footsteps, other social media companies are expected to follow suit. However, unlike Snapchat, Instagram&#8217;s version of Fleets isn&#8217;t going to let people delete their posts or share screenshots. Rather, they&#8217;ll be disappearing after 24 hours. As a result, Instagram&#8217;s Fleets feature isn&#8217;t going to get people flooded with notifications, as Snapchat and Facebook did.<\/p>\n<p>After the platform&#8217;s launch, Twitter has announced that the feature will be discontinued on August 3, 2021. Unlike Instagram Stories, Fleets allows you to post short videos and photos that disappear after 24 hours. The feature was launched in Brazil and later spread to other countries. However, it has since been taken down from Instagram. Despite being a popular app, the platform doesn&#8217;t have a clear relaunch date.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Back-end_server_issues\"><\/span>Back-end server issues<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Twitter is fixing a bug that keeps fleets accessible for up to 30 days, TechCrunch reports. The bug prevents users from deleting fleets and is caused by a flaw in Twitter&#8217;s back-end server. While Twitter does not delete fleets, they do retain them for at least 30 days, and sometimes even longer. This means that any user can download and view fleets indefinitely, and it can be abused to archive fleets.<\/p>\n<p>Twitter is trying to learn from the issue by using the information it gathers through the feature. Fleet ads are full-screen vertical ads, and were unpopular. The company is using the data collected to better target ads. If these ads continue to show up for a long time, Twitter will need to improve their servers. Until that happens, you can check out Twitter&#8217;s help forums for updates. But if you&#8217;re not sure what to do, here are some tips for getting your fleet to work on Twitter.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Mobile-only_feature\"><\/span>Mobile-only feature<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Twitter is rolling out a new feature for its mobile app called Fleets. This new feature works like Instagram Stories, but for Twitter. Fleets appear as a new tab at the top of your screen and allow you to browse through them manually or automatically. If they contain links, you can follow through to the original post. Currently, this feature is only available on the Twitter mobile app, but in the future, it may be added to the web browser as well.<\/p>\n<p>While the new feature may look promising, there are still a few problems. Currently, the new Fleets feature makes it difficult to use, as it requires you to swipe and tap to access. Users have reported that the app freezes when using the feature, and the screen moves slowly. As a result, the reply may take a day before it reaches the person receiving the message.
