According to the U.S. Census, fewer people in poor neighborhoods are likely to mention healthy foods on Twitter. Those who do mention healthy foods have lower rates of chronic disease and fewer deaths. That&#8217;s an interesting correlation to follow! So, is it possible to predict how many people will tweet about food in 2022? Let&#8217;s find out.<\/p>\n<p>The researchers used the Twitter streaming API to collect a random 1% sample of public geolocated tweets. In total, they analyzed 60,174 food-related tweets from 25 major cities. Each tweet was then mapped to a census tract, allowing researchers to derive point-to-polygon features for each tweet. Those features were derived from the linguistic constructs of food-related tweets. Among the most popular food items were curry, Starbucks, Taco Bell, and chicken.<\/p>\n<p>This research was conducted by Goetz, a PhD student at the University of Maryland. She wanted to know how people felt about the current food situation and whether they were concerned, happy, or content. To find out, she used artificial intelligence to identify tweets about food security and separated them from tweets expressing relief or contentment. The researchers also found that tweets about food security were associated with emotions, especially anger, fear, and disgust. These emotions were all associated with the level of food insufficiency in certain states of the U.S.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Tweets_about_TV_shows\"><\/span>Tweets about TV shows<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>According to a recent report from AdAge, the number of TV show and movie Tweets on Twitter will surpass the amount of tweets made about sporting events and video games. Last year, the average number of TV show and movie Tweets per minute was over 7000. Those numbers will be even higher in 2022, if we take into account lockdowns. The study cited various statistics on Twitter usage and shows that TV and movie fans are talking about other topics on Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>The number of tweets per television show on Twitter has been on a rise in recent years. Shows like &#8220;Empire&#8221; and &#8220;The Bachelor&#8221; are generating the highest number of tweets per episode, with each tweet garnering more than 50,000. The shows have both exceeded the number of tweets per airing of Game of Thrones, which had previously held the top spot each year.
