When sharing outside of Facebook, your privacy settings may not allow you to share links. If that&#8217;s the case, see this article for tips. You can also use the Facebook mobile app to share links outside of the social network.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Limiting_the_audience_for_a_post\"><\/span>Limiting the audience for a post<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you&#8217;d like to limit the audience for a particular post on Facebook, there are a few simple steps that you can follow. First, go to your page&#8217;s settings. There, you&#8217;ll see a list of options that you can choose from, including Friends, Custom Audiences, and lists. Currently, Facebook does not have a default audience setting, so if you haven&#8217;t set one yet, you should select the option that best suits your needs.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to setting the audience for a single post, you can also limit the audience for previous posts. To do this, go to your settings, and look for &#8220;Limit Old Posts.&#8221; Once you find the option, click it. Facebook will display a warning message before limiting the audience, but you can still make individual posts visible to everyone. If you have an old post, however, you should limit it to friends only.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Limiting_the_audience_for_a_photo\"><\/span>Limiting the audience for a photo<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>To limit the audience of a photo on Facebook, you need to edit its privacy settings. You will find this option at the upper right corner of the photo post. You can choose to make the photo public to all people on Facebook, only your friends, or a custom list of people. To edit the privacy of a photo, go to the Uploads tab and edit the privacy setting. After adjusting the settings, you must select the appropriate audience type.<\/p>\n<p>You can change the audience of your photo by clicking on the small arrow in the upper right hand corner and choosing Report\/Remove Tags. This will prevent the image from being seen by other people, but it won&#8217;t remove it from the public. However, if you feel that a photo has become abusive or offensive, you can report it to Facebook. They will remove it. Facebook has found that this has increased user engagement and streamlined tagging. But the changes don&#8217;t necessarily mean that you should turn off face recognition technology. If you don&#8217;t want to be tagged in photos, you can always use the search bar to find out who took the photo. To change face recognition technology settings on Facebook, just follow these steps.<\/p>\n<p>When Facebook changes its face recognition features, you can opt out of the notifications you receive. Facebook will notify you if you have turned on the feature and allow the feature to tag you in photos. You can turn this feature off at any time by changing your privacy settings. By default, the Facebook face recognition feature is turned off for new users. However, if you had turned it on before, you won&#8217;t receive any notification.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Clearing_your_history\"><\/span>Clearing your history<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>After nearly two years, Facebook has finally made a tool for its users to clear their history when sharing on Facebook. Users can now click on the &#8220;clear history&#8221; button to view all shared interactions. However, this option will not change the way Facebook uses user data. Users are still required to give permission for sharing their personal information. However, Facebook is now working on making this tool more available to users. So, if you&#8217;re tired of getting ads and suggestions all the time, try this new tool.<\/p>\n<p>Although it won&#8217;t completely clear your history, it will still let Facebook access your information without identifying you. However, Facebook will be able to use this information to show you targeted ads based on your interests. This new feature is initially available in Ireland, Spain and South Korea, with a wider launch expected later this year. This new privacy feature comes after several recent privacy controversies regarding the company. But don&#8217;t get too excited about it yet. The new option will still allow Facebook to collect your personal information without identifying you, but it will help users keep their online identities private.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Customizing_your_sharing_settings\"><\/span>Customizing your sharing settings<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Regardless of whether you share content regularly or rarely, there are ways to customize your Facebook sharing settings. Generally speaking, you can control who sees things and who doesn&#8217;t. For instance, you can choose the people you want to see future posts, limit who can view your existing posts, and control which pages you want to be visible to everyone. By customizing your sharing settings, you can also control who can see your friend requests, your friends list, and the search engines that link to your profile.<\/p>\n<p>The default setting on Facebook is private. Fortunately, you can change this setting if you choose. While default privacy applies to everything you post, you can choose a specific audience. If you want your posts to be viewed only by friends, you can set your default level to Friends. If you want more control, you can set specific posts to be visible to a curated group of people.
