The movie starred Max Minghella as Divya Narendra, who co-founded HarvardConnection, the social network that predates Facebook. Divya Narendra was involved in an ongoing lawsuit against Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. She has been accused of using false information to spread her message about the social network.<\/p>\n<p>Facebook co-founder Divya Narendra founded Harvard Connections and ConnectU, and claims that Mark Zuckerberg swiped her idea from her. It is not surprising given the fact that she was the first person to think of a social networking platform and sued Zuckerberg for stealing her idea. In fact, Divya Narendra is a New York native who grew up in a New York Indian immigrant family.<\/p>\n<p>While Mark Zuckerberg&#8217;s involvement in the creation of Facebook may have been necessary, there are other sources of inspiration for the company&#8217;s success. Divya Narendra is an Indian-American Harvard student who came up with the idea for a social network among Harvard students. She collaborated with the Winklevoss twins to name the network connectU. Zuckerberg stole this idea and betrayed the original founders, Edward Saverin and Cameron Narendra.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Mark_Zuckerberg\"><\/span>Mark Zuckerberg<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The man behind Facebook is a wary, reclusive introvert. Though the company is named for him, Mark Zuckerberg dislikes speaking to the press and public appearances. In fact, he once said &#8220;I hate doing events&#8221; and then looked off into the distance. This was the first time that Mark Zuckerberg has been photographed with his face covered, but that didn&#8217;t stop him from quoting a poem from the Aeneid during a product meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the fact that he created Facebook as a college student, it is hard to deny that he was a whiz at coding and making a stir. Zuckerberg developed FaceMash, a social networking site that let students vote on attractive women and become campus celebrities. This idea quickly died but triggered Zuckerberg to consider a campus-wide social network for university students. Despite the early difficulties of gaining acceptance at Harvard, Zuckerberg&#8217;s success made him a celebrity.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Cameron_Winklevoss\"><\/span>Cameron Winklevoss<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The fact that Facebook is a billion-dollar company is not news to the world. Cameron Winklevoss, a twin of Tyler Winklevoss, graduated from Harvard University in 2004 with a degree in economics. During his college years, he was also a member of the Harvard men&#8217;s varsity rowing team, as well as the Porcellian and Hasty Pudding clubs. In 2014, Winklevoss founded the Gemini cryptocurrency exchange. The Winklevoss twins also own a company called Winklevoss Capital, which invests in early-stage startups. Their eponymous company is headquartered in New York City.<\/p>\n<p>Facebook is based on a concept developed by Divya Narendra, who was Mark Zuckerberg&#8217;s Harvard roommate and a student at Harvard. The Winklevoss twins sued Zuckerberg for stealing their idea, and eventually won a $65 million settlement from him and his brothers. In exchange, the twins received twenty million dollars in cash and forty-five million shares in Facebook.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Tyler_Winklevoss\"><\/span>Tyler Winklevoss<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If Mark Zuckerberg and Tyler Winklevoss are the real founders of Facebook, why would they sue each other? The truth is that Mark Zuckerberg was merely trying to change the social order, while the Winklevoss twins were privileged Harvard jocks who grew up to be six-foot-five Olympic rowers. The twins&#8217; claim to fame is that they used Facebook to make money for themselves. However, it&#8217;s a lie.<\/p>\n<p>As it turns out, Facebook is not Mark Zuckerberg&#8217;s creation. The Winklevoss brothers were actually working on other projects at the same time as Zuckerberg, so they had access to thousands of pages of court documents. It was only after a lawsuit with HarvardConnection that they uncovered evidence that they were the real founders of Facebook.
