The old layout was a familiar way to view Facebook &#8211; it used a smaller font and icons, a different options menu, and a prominent search bar. Your attachment to the layout is likely the result of muscle memory and familiarity. The way to revert to the classic version of Facebook is to collapse the panel with the icon that says &#8220;Return to Classic&#8221; at the bottom.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, the one-tap switch method is no longer available on mobile. Luckily, there are other ways to revert to the classic Facebook layout. You can download Chrome Extensions to restore the old layout. Or, you can use the manual methods. The methods are described below. Read on to discover how to revert to a classic Facebook layout. While these methods are more efficient, there are a few things you should keep in mind before attempting to restore the classic version of Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>First of all, you should know that Facebook frequently changes its layout. It&#8217;s mandatory to go through a complete redesign starting in September 2020. If you don&#8217;t like the new look, you can switch back to the classic layout for 48 hours. However, this option will be permanently removed once Facebook has completed the redesign in September 2020. Therefore, if you wish to switch back to the classic version of Facebook, now is the time to do so.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Chrome_extension_to_revert_to_a_classic_layout\"><\/span>Chrome extension to revert to a classic layout<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You can revert to the classic layout of Facebook using the Chrome extension called Old Layout. This extension does not require any configuration and will automatically revert your account to the classic layout. This extension does not make any changes to your browser&#8217;s source code, but rather fools Facebook into thinking you&#8217;re using an old version of the browser. Once installed, you can use it to switch between the old and new layouts of Facebook, without changing anything in your browser.<\/p>\n<p>To revert back to the old layout of Facebook, you&#8217;ll need to install the Old Layout for Facebook Chrome extension on your chrome PC. Simply open the extension from the chrome top bar and click &#8220;Chrome Extension to revert to a classic layout&#8221;. You&#8217;ll notice that the new layout looks terrible in your browser, but you can get it back by installing the Old Layout extension.<\/p>\n<p>Facebook users who don&#8217;t like the new look of the site may find Old Layout useful. The extension tells the social networking site to display pages in an old style on your computer. However, the extension comes with its drawbacks. First, when you visit the site in a new browser, Facebook will notify you that you&#8217;re using an older version of the site. Additionally, it won&#8217;t save changes to your browser. Old Layout was created by Matt Krause, the developer of the Social Fixer extension, and is currently ranked #1096 in the Chrome Web Store.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Switching_back_to_a_classic_layout_on_Facebook\"><\/span>Switching back to a classic layout on Facebook<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you want to switch back to the old-style Facebook layout, you have several options available. You can try using an extension called Old Layout for Facebook. Simply install the extension and then tap on the option at the top of the chrome window to switch to the classic layout. This will revert your entire Facebook to the classic look and feel. If you still don&#8217;t see the switch button, here&#8217;s how to get it.<\/p>\n<p>Some users of Facebook won&#8217;t be able to access the switch button if they&#8217;ve been using the new layout. The new Facebook interface hasn&#8217;t been updated in a while, and some users may still not be able to see the switch button. To switch back to the classic view of Facebook, follow the steps outlined in the video below. First, locate the &#8220;updates&#8221; section on your profile page. Click on the drop-down arrow at the top right corner. Click on &#8220;Switch to the new Facebook&#8221; in the menu that appears.<\/p>\n<p>After you&#8217;ve switched to the new layout, you may be wondering what the advantages and disadvantages are of switching back to the old design. The new design is more attractive, but it has many flaws. You might want to avoid switching back to the new design if you&#8217;re looking for a more familiar layout.
