To find friends by proximity, you can use Smart Lists, which are automatically sorted into categories such as friends within 50 miles of your current city. You can also group friends by their last known locations. If you want to get rid of unused categories, you can delete them in Facebook&#8217;s settings.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re having trouble keeping up with your Facebook friend list, you can organize it by choosing a group or custom list. You can even hide specific people from your timeline. You can filter your News Feed to display only friends or your favorite businesses&#8217; posts. Facebook even allows you to post updates for specific people. But how do you organize your friends on Facebook? If you don&#8217;t want to bother them, you can reply to the message, report it, or block it as spam. The message will be delivered to your Facebook chat list, and if they&#8217;re not your friends, you can reply to them if you like. If you don&#8217;t want them to see your message, you can block them.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Messages_to_non-friends\"><\/span>Messages to non-friends<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>There are two main ways to view the private messages on Facebook of someone you&#8217;re not friends with. The first is to open up the person&#8217;s profile page and click on the &#8220;Add Friend&#8221; button. Secondly, you can view the messages hidden from you by clicking on the three dots in the top right corner of the chat window. This will show you a list of people who have tried to message you but weren&#8217;t able to.<\/p>\n<p>The second way is to use Facebook Messenger to read private messages from non-friends. The message will appear in the user&#8217;s message request folder. You can then reply to or block the person or report them to Facebook. Facebook will send messages to your &#8220;chat list,&#8221; which is where most spam is sent. Using this method will prevent the messages from being delivered to the wrong person. Facebook does not distinguish between important and unimportant messages, so some users might miss an important message if they don&#8217;t check their &#8220;Other&#8221; inbox frequently.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, if you sent a message to someone who wasn&#8217;t a friend, you would not receive a notification. Your message would go into the other inbox, but Facebook decided to separate these messages into two separate folders, called Message Requests Inbox and Filtered Inbox. Messages from non-friends will appear in the Message Requests Inbox, while messages from friends will be sent to your normal inbox.
