Users have already started getting notifications about it. The new look is cleaner, faster, and offers a more immersive experience. Groups, Marketplace, and games are displayed prominently in the new look. Whether you like the old or new layout, you can choose to use an extension that lets you switch between the two. Here are some ways to do it.<\/p>\n<p>Using a Chrome extension can help you change the look of your Facebook and go back to the classic layout. You can install the extension for Facebook and tap on it from the top bar of your chrome browser. If you don&#8217;t see the switch to classic view button, you can manually do it by selecting it from the &#8220;Old Layout&#8221; drop-down menu. The extension will then change the layout of the entire Facebook.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Chrome_extension\"><\/span>Chrome extension<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You might have noticed that you no longer see the classic version of Facebook on your mobile device, but fortunately, there is an easy solution to that. You can restore the old-fashioned look of Facebook on your Chrome PC by installing an extension called Old Layout for Facebook. After installing the extension, all you need to do is tap the extension in the top bar to return to the classic view of Facebook. Once the extension has been installed, you can switch to the classic view by simply tapping the icon in the top bar.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike other browser extensions, the Old Layout for Facebook extension does not make heavy programming changes. It just fools Facebook into thinking that you are using an old browser and thus reverts to the classic look. There is no need to configure anything, but you do need to refresh the page for the change to take effect. The extension is available in the Chrome Web store, where you can also pin it to the Chrome toolbar.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Default_view\"><\/span>Default view<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The default view of Facebook can be changed at any time to suit your preferences. Currently, the Most Recent view limits your feed to five to 10 posts. You can change this by bookmarking the?sk parameter and clicking it whenever you wish to change the default view of Facebook. The &#8220;?sk&#8221; parameter will also allow you to toggle the feed to display recent posts, if you wish. Using the Most Recent mode on Facebook is not the most convenient view. It is too cumbersome and forces you to switch back to the Top Stories view.<\/p>\n<p>To change the default view of Facebook, you can make the URL to display the feed in chronological order. If you bookmark the tweaked URL, you will force the feed to display recent stories on initial visit. As you browse through the feed, however, you might notice that the chronological sorting has changed and the feed reverts to top stories. However, you can easily restore the chronological sorting of the feed by clicking the custom bookmark.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Switching_back_to_the_old_version_of_Facebook\"><\/span>Switching back to the old version of Facebook<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you don&#8217;t like the new look of Facebook, you can switch back to the old layout by clicking on the upside-down triangle and then &#8220;See Facebook Beta.&#8221; The new design is not fully compatible with the current version of Internet Explorer, and many GearBrain readers have reported issues with drop-down menus. You can also try using the mobile app to access Facebook in the old layout. However, this option only works temporarily and may not be compatible with the latest version of Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>The redesign of Facebook has brought a couple of new features to the site, which aren&#8217;t immediately apparent. For one, stories now appear more prominently at the top, above status updates. Another feature is a better way to see who&#8217;s online, as the green circle still appears on their profile.
