Facebook is making it easier to customize your news feed and select what shows up in your feed. Now, you can find your friends&#8217; and pages&#8217; posts easily and select the content you&#8217;d like to see. The tweaks to the News Feed are all aimed at improving the user experience. Read on to learn more.<\/p>\n<p>The biggest change is that Facebook will now prioritize posts from people you know. The new algorithm prioritizes stories that are likely to be shared more by your friends. Earlier, only 20% of people saw posts from their closest friends. Fortunately, Facebook has learned that people prefer diverse content. In the new News Feed update, you&#8217;ll see more posts from people you know, and less from Pages you don&#8217;t like.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Live_video_prioritization\"><\/span>Live video prioritization<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The new Facebook update prioritizes live videos. Instead of ranking them lower than other videos, the algorithm will reward those that were posted within the last few hours. The change makes sense because Facebook already prioritizes video, but Live videos aren&#8217;t the most popular. Adding a notification to your timeline is a great way to increase reach. If you&#8217;ve been using Facebook Live for a while, you&#8217;ll be happy to know that it&#8217;s becoming more refined.<\/p>\n<p>The new algorithm will apply to videos in the News Feed and the Suggested Videos sections. This means that long videos will receive a slight boost in distribution, while short videos will see a small drop. There&#8217;s no set length for &#8220;long&#8221; videos, but Facebook recommends users to use the video insights section of Page Analytics to determine how long each video should be. Once you&#8217;ve done that, you can begin adjusting your video content accordingly.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Changes_to_Ads\"><\/span>Changes to Ads<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>As we approach March 17, we will see significant changes to Facebook ads. Facebook is removing over 5,000 targeting options that make it difficult to target a particular audience based on their attributes. We are also seeing a sharp decrease in the number of ads that target consumers who are more likely to purchase products, such as those that promote the sale of homes. These changes will hurt some advertisers and help others, but they could be helpful for many users.<\/p>\n<p>While Facebook has been making changes to its platform, the core of the ads remains the same. However, the navigation menu on the left sidebar has been reorganized and more details are now available. Saved reports are now accessible from the spreadsheet icon, which is next to the drop-down menu for changing accounts. Below that, the daily ad spend is now visible. Facebook has redesigned its layout to make it simpler to manage and more intuitive to navigate. This update also makes it easier to stay connected to your core audience by making key information more visible on mobile devices. Listed below are some important changes to the new layout. The new way Page likes are calculated will also remove likes from memorialized and deactivated accounts.
