After losing her husband to a tragic car accident, she began the group with a goal to bring together like-minded women who share a common experience. In its mission to support and empower widows, the Modern Widows Club is a great place to get support and encouragement.<\/p>\n<p>The Modern Wives Club is a Facebook group for widows and loners in Minnesota. The club&#8217;s mission is to provide a forum for women to vent their feelings without fear of judgement. While the group is mostly online, it does occasionally host meetups in real life. Nora McInerny co-founded the group after her husband died of appendix cancer.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"GriefNet\"><\/span>GriefNet<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>GriefNet is an online bereavement support group facilitated by a certified social worker. The groups are open to all ages and types of grieving. GriefNet offers several support groups on different types of grief, including k2k, k2m, and kid-to-kids. It also offers online grief support for children. Each group includes a message board and chat groups. Members can post and reply to other members&#8217; posts.<\/p>\n<p>When using a grief support group online, make sure the group is secure. Legitimate grief support groups do not require any payment or registration fee to join. While legitimate groups may ask for donations, they should never demand payment. Be aware of scam artists who may invade personal websites, and report any suspicious behavior to the appropriate authorities. Here are some things to keep in mind when using a grief support group on Facebook.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Hope_Again\"><\/span>Hope Again<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Although the Hope Again Facebook group for widows and their families is not a continuous grief support group, there are many resources available to members. Young people and parents alike can use the group as a place to share their stories and information about loss. There are resources for both youth and adults available on the Hope Again website, as well as educational tools on the subject of grief. The group is primarily targeted at teens, but anyone can participate and post stories about any kind of loss.<\/p>\n<p>H.O.P.E. is a support group for widows and widowers founded in 1978. Since then, it has helped thousands of grieving widows. Members of this group are of all ages, and can participate even if they have not fully processed their grief. The group has various activities for its members, including a support group, prayer, and communication. These activities are designed to offer the survivors a place to talk about their losses and move on from them.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Cancer_Care\"><\/span>Cancer Care<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you have lost a partner to cancer, there is now a Cancer Care Facebook group for widows and surviving spouses. It is a free, 15-week online support group led by an oncology social worker. Cancer is never easy, but cancer care widows and surviving spouses can find hope and support by joining this group. The group offers peer support, humor, and ideas for dealing with the grief and loss of a spouse.<\/p>\n<p>There are many types of cancer support groups, and some are geared towards specific types of cancer. Many cancer survivors find that joining a cancer support group makes them feel less alone. The group members share their stories in a safe environment. During meetings, participants share stories and experiences and are free to discuss anything. Some groups even feature guest speakers. Most groups are free, but some charge for tea and accept donations for complementary therapies.
