You need to understand the Facebook 20% rule. This rule is the basis by which Facebook determines if your promoted ad meets the required 20%. Here are some ways to meet the requirement:

Text overlay tool

The 20 percent rule has made Facebook advertisements more difficult to create. When Facebook introduced the rule, you couldn’t use a full image, so you had to cover it with text. However, you could use a tool called Text Overlay. This tool would check the design for the 20% restriction. However, this tool didn’t work as effectively as it should have. It’s not clear why Facebook removed the tool, or why advertisers had to reformat their designs.

The 20% rule was originally implemented to increase the user experience of Facebook’s ad system. While it helped Facebook to identify ads that are too wordy, the rules were never updated, and it was only a matter of time before advertisers started noticing the impact. Initially, Facebook intended to reduce the amount of noise in the News Feed, which consisted mostly of images and text. But when users saw too many images and too much text, they would tend to scroll away from the ad.

Image size

You might have heard of the Facebook 20% text rule, but are you familiar with its limitations? Until recently, Facebook allowed you to cover as much as 20% of your ad images with words. This changed last year, when Facebook opted to allow more text. However, Facebook warned that it would affect the reach of your ads if you did this. To avoid violating Facebook’s 20% rule, you should adhere to its guidelines.

While the Facebook 20% text rule was initially implemented to increase the user experience, it has been updated multiple times to improve user experience. It was discovered that people tend to look away from ads that contain too much text. Its most recent update aims to solve this problem by removing the excess text content from advertisements. But, you still need to follow the recommendations if you want to improve the performance of your ads. Listed below are some ways to make your ads look more attractive.

Text limit

For several months, Facebook has restricted the amount of text that can appear in image ads. It was a common problem for many Facebook advertisers to try to run campaigns without exceeding the 20% limit, but that is no longer the case. Facebook has announced a change to their policy, removing the 20% text limit for ads. Facebook will still recommend that advertisers keep their ads under the 20% text limit, but users can ignore the recommendation without any penalties.

The original purpose of the rule was to reduce the noise of ads on Facebook. Before there were multiple ad units, Facebook’s News Feed was largely text. More text can make ads look cluttered and not very engaging. The new rule aims to make ads look cleaner and less cluttered. It was also aimed at improving conversion rates for paid ads. For this reason, Facebook implemented the text limit to make it easier for businesses to promote their products and services.

Text alignment

If you’re considering creating a Facebook ad, you might be wondering what the 20% rule is and how it applies to your ad. While this rule is generally applied to all forms of Facebook ads, it is particularly relevant for news feed ads. While Facebook is notoriously image-centric, your ad text can play an important role in the overall performance of your ad. In fact, Facebook recommends that you use a font size of no more than 20 percent.

Until recently, Facebook’s guidelines recommended that you use no more than 20% text in an ad. But the change was not well documented, and some media buyers noticed the change and reacted accordingly. The 20% rule was implemented to reduce noise in Facebook’s News Feed. Before Facebook started introducing multiple ad units, it was largely composed of images and text. Adding more text could make the News Feed look cluttered.

What is the Facebook 20% Rule?
