The video website is expected to make 5.5 billion dollars in advertising revenue in the U.S. this year. Although Jawed published his video in January 2005, he didn&#8217;t post it for another seven months. His channel, which has only one video, now has 850 thousand subscribers.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Jawed_Karim\"><\/span>Jawed Karim<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In the spring of 2005, Jawed Karim, then 19, uploaded his first video to YouTube. The video, titled &#8216;Me at the zoo,&#8217; featured the first YouTuber in action. It was filmed by his high school friend Yakov Lapitsky and has since garnered over 54 million views. Today, Jawed is the youngest commencement speaker in the history of the university.<\/p>\n<p>The three co-founders of YouTube met while working at PayPal. They had a dream to put videos on the internet. The early years of YouTube&#8217;s development were marked by technological challenges. A single web server cost $100 a month. The site struggled to attract visitors and establish a coherent identity. Users would be given videos at random. In response, YouTube changed its algorithm so that video suggestions are based on the user&#8217;s preferences.<\/p>\n<p>The original version of Jawed Karim&#8217;s channel features a short introduction and explanation of the site&#8217;s business model. The site was initially free to users, but soon, ads began to appear on the site. The first video was uploaded to YouTube on 23 April 2005. Unlike other videos, Jawed Karim&#8217;s channel contains no other content than what he posted in 2005. This is a testament to the popularity of the video platform.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Chad_Hurley\"><\/span>Chad Hurley<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The co-founder and first CEO of YouTube, Chad Hurley, is an American entrepreneur. Along with Jawed Karim and Steve Chen, he founded the popular video-sharing website YouTube. YouTube now boasts a user base of over one billion and hundreds of hours of content uploaded daily. Chad Hurley shares his secrets of success and how he became one of the world&#8217;s most influential entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n<p>Chad Hurley graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and later worked at PayPal before founding YouTube. The company started in Hurley&#8217;s garage in Menlo Park, California, and eventually moved into an office space. In addition to his role as CEO, Hurley is still active in the company, serving as an advisor to the company. YouTube has been around for about 11 years, and Hurley has helped it grow and flourish.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Steve_Chen\"><\/span>Steve Chen<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In 1999, Chen had the idea for YouTube, but his career took off much faster than he thought. While working at PayPal, Chen met Chad Hurley and Jawed Karim, who would go on to co-found YouTube. Chen was named the first YouTuber in 2005 and made over one billion views in less than two years. Chen was just 24 years old when YouTube launched and his success helped him secure a position as a Google Ventures adviser.<\/p>\n<p>Chen, who was a native of Taiwan, came to the United States as a child. He went on to study at the University of Illinois before joining PayPal. The YouTube co-founders met at PayPal, and Chen worked there as an early employee. In 2005, YouTube was one of the fastest-growing websites, with over 100 million viewers per day. Chen went on to serve as Chief Technology Officer of Facebook, where he met many of the other co-founders.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"CobaltGruv\"><\/span>CobaltGruv<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The YouTube channel COBALTGRUV was created by a man named David who is the 42nd most subscribed user on the website. In 2005, he uploaded his first video and was the 42nd person to join. Since then, he has been active on the site and continues to upload videos. Today, he has a following of 22k subscribers, 161 videos, and 2.1M overall channel views.<\/p>\n<p>YouTube has over 2 billion monthly visitors and 500 hours of video uploaded every minute. The company expects to earn 5.5 billion dollars in advertising revenue in the U.S. this year. CobaltGruv was a YouTuber seven months before the site was launched. He has only posted one video to his channel, but has 850 000 subscribers.
