The change will also likely spur competition from other streaming services, including Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, and Tidal. Streamus, a popular Chrome extension, was pulled from the Chrome Web store on Tuesday. The developer hopes to continue running the database, but if that&#8217;s not possible, the next best thing is to try a Firefox extension instead. Both Firefox and Chrome now have extensions that enable audio-only viewing.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Extensions_that_let_you_play_YouTube_videos_in_audio-only_mode\"><\/span>Extensions that let you play YouTube videos in audio-only mode<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Can you play YouTube videos in audio-only format? This question will be useful if you want to listen to only the audio stream. The simple answer is no, but you can install an add-on to enable audio-only playback. Audio-only playback uses less bandwidth than full-screen video. This may benefit devices with limited Internet bandwidth and low-end processors. Streaming only audio also uses less power.<\/p>\n<p>To download YouTube videos as MP3 files, you can use several free online YouTube downloaders. However, you must make sure to have sufficient bandwidth to download videos. Downloading videos as MP3s can take a while if your Internet connection is slow. If you prefer an audio-only mode, you can install an extension called Audio Only YouTube. For Firefox users, you can also install the YouTube Audio add-on.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Google_Home_integration\"><\/span>Google Home integration<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You can play YouTube videos on the Google Home speaker through Bluetooth connection. Simply open the Google Home app, and select the Bluetooth pairing option. You will see a list of all devices that are paired with Google Home. Tap on the speaker you wish to pair and it will play YouTube videos. If you don&#8217;t have a Bluetooth connection, you can pair the speaker with your phone. This method requires both the phone and the speaker to be on.<\/p>\n<p>Once the devices are paired, go into Bluetooth settings and enable the sharing mode. The Google Home speaker should now be available in your Bluetooth list. You can then choose to play YouTube audio from your computer. The volume control will remain on the device. The playback controls will remain on the device. When you&#8217;re finished listening to YouTube music, you can switch the volume back to full or minimize it entirely.
