He previously worked as an engineer and user experience designer at Meebo, where he developed Instagram&#8217;s initial version of the app. He then went on to lead the engineering team at Instagram until 2018.<\/p>\n<p>In 2010, Systrom and Krieger founded Instagram. Instagram began as a location-check-in app called Burbn, which was later retooled to become Instagram.
