But when you&#8217;re dealing with abusive comments from family members, it&#8217;s best to protect yourself with a restricted account.<\/p>\n<p>Restricted accounts can be set up by visiting the privacy tab of your profile. To restrict an account, swipe left from the comment to reveal three options: Report this comment, Disable this account, and Restrict this account. Once you&#8217;ve tapped &#8220;Restrict,&#8221; a pop-up window will open. Tap &#8220;Learn More&#8221; to find out more information about the restriction feature. Any messages they send you will be directed to the Requests folder, which is located above your message list. While many users worry about unfollowing or blocking a bully, the new feature can offer protection without alerting the perpetrator.<\/p>\n<p>The restriction function lets users choose whether to allow or block certain comments on their profile. For example, if you want to block someone from sending you a private message, you can restrict that person from receiving direct messages. This way, they won&#8217;t know if you&#8217;ve replied or deleted their comment. This feature is especially effective for repeat bullies and those who post negative comments on another user&#8217;s profile.
