The app&#8217;s creators made sure to target the younger generation with its teen-focused focus. The social media platform is free of parental oversight and advertisements, which appeals to the generation&#8217;s immature tastes.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, over half of all US users are younger than 10, with the youngest user being 10 years old. In the UK, Gen Z makes up more than 9% of users. The app is popular with people of all ages, and Gen Z is expected to become the largest group of TikTok users in 2022. Prank videos, fitness and sports, and cooking videos round out the top five.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, entertainment content accounted for the largest portion of hashtag views, with 443.3 billion. Another category, dance, has risen in popularity, gaining 150.3 billion views in a year. The entertainment content category includes creators dealing with special effects, comedy, and nontraditional forms of entertainment. According to App Annie, American users spend 33 minutes on the platform each day. The number of daily active users is expected to climb even higher. Despite the rapid growth in the US, the app is still relatively new in the country. It has only been around since mid-2018.
