While this can make reading your feed more convenient, it also has the potential to reduce your engagement stats. If you want to prevent your feed from refreshing, read on to learn how to disable ‘Reduce Motion’. You may also want to consider downloading the Albatross app or Twitter Lite. You can also disable the auto-refreshing option in your Twitter settings.

Albatross app

If you’re tired of the constant refresh of your Twitter timeline, try stopping it with Albatross. This slick, free Twitter app enables you to manage your timeline in chronological order and prevent it from refreshing automatically. You can also turn off live engagement counts and disable replies. Below are some steps to stop Twitter from refreshing automatically. Once you’ve installed Albatross, you’ll be able to see a detailed screenshot of how to change the settings.

– You can also use the app’s accessibility settings to turn off automatic feed refresh. This way, when you’re not reading your feed, you won’t be bothered by the auto-refreshing animations. Alternatively, you can use a free web browser to view Twitter in this manner. Some web browsers even offer the option to turn off live engagement counts, so you won’t have to worry about the app refreshing.

Twitter Lite app

Your Android phone might be requiring more storage than usual for the Twitter Lite app. If this is the case, you should check the internal storage space on your phone and delete unnecessary files. Once you have enough space, you can restart your phone and your Twitter app should work again. It may be that the app has run out of permissions. If you can’t figure out why it’s happening, follow these tips:

If the Twitter Lite app keeps refreshing, you may have to adjust its settings. You can change the timeline order by un-checking the “Show me the best tweets first” option. Another way to customize this is to disable the background app refresh and set it to refresh only when the user is using Wi-Fi. You can also select Wi-Fi and cell phone data. Ensure that you’re on Wi-Fi before you turn on this option.

Twitter’s new timeline refresh option

During your tweeting session, you may notice that some of your tweets are disappearing from your timeline. To remedy this, Twitter has made it easy to load new tweets manually, by clicking the tweet counter bar at the top of your timeline. This option will not automatically refresh, however, and you will need to manually load new tweets as often as you want. If you’re using the web version of Twitter, you can also enable the new timeline refresh feature, which will automatically load new tweets when you click the tweet counter bar.

The change is coming to iOS devices this week, with Android users getting access soon. Twitter says the update is designed to make it easier for users to view content from different accounts and allows them to pin their latest timeline next to the home feed. Twitter also says the new timeline refresh option is available on many of the latest Android phones. Users will need to download an update to their device to use it. Until then, users can continue to use the current version of the app.

Disabling ‘Reduce Motion’

If you’ve ever been frustrated by your Twitter timeline constantly refreshing while reading a tweet, you’ve probably wondered how to disable the feature. To do this, go to the Settings menu and select Accessibility. Once there, enable the toggle for ‘Reduce Motion’ to stop the feed from refreshing while you’re reading. This will prevent the app from automatically refreshing the timeline as you read.

Twitter recently implemented an update that introduced this auto-refresh feature. This was supposed to automatically insert new tweets at the top of your timeline without you ever knowing about it. However, users reported a lot of trouble with this feature, particularly when they’re trying to catch up with tweets. Users have been vocal about their frustrations with the new feature and the resulting annoyance. Disabling this feature will prevent your Twitter timeline from constantly refreshing, and will allow you to read tweets at your leisure.

How to Stop Twitter From Refreshing Twitter is now enabling users to turn off the auto-refreshing of their timeline by default.
