The company is currently making a change to its user interface that will eliminate the countdown when you&#8217;re nearing the end of your post. In the future, you won&#8217;t see the countdown until you&#8217;re at least 20 characters in.<\/p>\n<p>When Twitter expanded its character limit in September 2017, it was clear that people were clamoring for more space. But the fact is that only 5% of Twitter users exceeded the 140-character limit. This suggests that the character limit will soon level off and users will return to their usual behavior.
